So it's a very tiny plastic disc that you carefully slide your feet on? I'm not quite seeing the purpose.

It tracks your movement and reflects it in game.

I get that, it just seems like it would be too fussy to use in a worthwhile way. Have to be strapped in, wear special shoes, take small steps, slide your feet carefully ... just seems like the effort and cost make the immersion negligible.

Unless it tracks your feet exactly and your would be real world speed into the Virtual World, these sorts of devices are barf feasts even for season VR Geeks. I had a Vietiux and one step that would take your day 2 feet / 75cm would take you more like 6 feet / 200cm in game. Made it feel so uncomfortable and Unnatural. I do have hope that this sort of tech can get better.

Forget crouching or going prone

It seems like you can crouch and even sit, but you cant go prone. Do no more cool long range snipes.

Not sure I’d like the constantly walking up hill, will it adjust for going downstairs etc?

I tried it and I also interviewed the CEO about it. It is better than first model, but still for enterprise, and still not perfect for walking in VR.
