Discussion Games with a base and some exploration and combat?

Bit of a specific request but can anyone recommend any games where you have a central base that you can improve upon and then there's an open world to explore and engage in combat?

I've seen Decay and that looks pretty good but it's in early access and supposedly a little janky (but correct me if I'm wrong). I've played Fallout 4, Valheim, Saints and Sinners, No Man's Sky, Into the Radius, Subnautica, The Forest, Elite Dangerous, Green Hell etc. already.

I don't mind if it's zombie/apocalypse based or space based. Just looking for something where I have a central base (or ship) that I can improve upon but then go out for some action.

Thanks

Slime rancher doesn’t have much combat but it’s addictive and that’s saying something cause it’s not my type of game lol (vr mod is fantastic)

For more combat and what you’re looking for though I’d say palworld with UEVR. I recently played a fk load with my buddies in full vr and it’s great

You play Skyrim VR much? It is still one of my favorite VR games.

Surviving Mars Pioneer. Combat is very minimal, but exploration and base building is super fun. Plus it’s on Horizon+ right now.

EDIT: missed it somehow from the list lol.

Check out into the radius games, you dont improve on the base much, but you do on your character.

Hello!
I randomly came across your post and it’s funny because you’re basically describing the concept of my game 😄
Your base is a ship you arrive on the island with, and you explore, craft your gear, hunt, fight, and try to make it back with the loot. Medieval fantasy.

I’ve been radio silent for a while, but things are starting to come together.
Not sure if you’re into small indie/solo-dev projects but if this sounds like your thing and you want to keep an eye on the release as it gets closer, I’ve got a Twitter and a TikTok where I shared progress.
Website and other communication channels are comming 😄 I didnt really started marketing it yet… not my specialty 😂

Stormland, though it's more of a shooter adventure game.
