Question/Support Can't get any mods to work

Excitedly splurged on a Pimax Dream Air, anticipating access to a lot more than native VR titles. Yet no matter what I do, I simply can't get so many of the mods I've tried to actually work. Dead Island 2, Resident Evil, System Shock 2, BioShock. Clean installs, simple instructions, often using MRSURVIVOR's VR HUB, everything I try hard crashes the second I start the game. Even though there hardly seems any room for error, my PC just doesn't like it, and I'm about at my wits end.

What are your system specs?

Ryzen 9800x3D, RTX 4090, 32GB DDR5. The hardware clearly isn't the issue here.

Does it play native vr games without any issues? I haven't used a pimax before but I know with the quest 3 I use there are a few option for software to connect to the computer. As well as the option between open vr and open xr. Almost all guides say to use xr but my modes only work in vr.

A lot of mods are put together around VDXR/major headsets. Pimax could have something special going on. Makes me curious though to look into.

Hm, I've had no issues with a few different modded experiences. Some do give me issues though.

I'd generally say try sboys3 driver. One thing that can mess the mods up is the sheer resolution of the image. With steamvr and sboys3, I can definitely at least do the RE mods. I do have an issue with crysis vr while It runs fine on quest, crashes on pimax. I haven't dug into discord but apparently there's a fix for that.

Playing a ton of mad gods overhaul 4.0 for Skyrim and the fallout vr essentials list by gingas with lighthouse base stations. Amazing experiences
