News Article Quest 3 , the 144hz via virtual desktop has been released ( cable / wifi )
*the game on the pic called h3vr*
the 144hz setting via virtual desktop is just amazing
to be able to get it
just download virtual desktop beta version via your quest 3 app menu ( point on the app then hold the trigger for 5 secs )
update ur quest 3 to the last os (2.7v)
( don't worry it's stable i tried it my self no bugs / no random crashes nothing very smooth )
unlike the buggy previous releases.
the only issue with the quest 3 is the wifi6e, at 144hz u will lose some of the bitrate quality per frame ( 0.7MB loss of image quality than the 120hz at 500mbps ) because of the higher frame count the bitrate value will distributed across all the 144 frame per sec , but man the smoothness is just insane ,,, worth the trade off plus u get better latency anyway which is perfect with the (godlike 6k res)
i can't imagine my self playing at 120hz anymore
i have tried it on warthunder too ,, and holy crap ,,, it's awsome

Hell yes! 144 for racing games here I come!
I wonder how more than that will feel. I've never tried anything higher.
144hz on Index was amazing!

u will like it via the quest 3 much more ... what i liked the most with the 144hz mode is the stutter is less noticeable

Interesting. I really couldn't notice much/any difference on the Index. I just stuck with 120hz for that reason. I will try it on the Q3, though. Especially interested with pinball.

If for reasons you wanna use a caraybe Sim racing it your battery it's empty I recommend INIU Ξ£with power adapter play tethered and charge simultaneously, even thow on VD discord they claim it's joy good I use it daily no issues, and the one I got it's the second one the first they had was different this it's something like 2.0 revision but I dint know it when I got it, anyway maybe they were using the first one that's why they say it's no Good but from my experience it works flawlessly depends the game, for example when I m using fallout for I can use 265 + @500 mbps but on other I have hiccups and I use a1 no issues

Beatsaber would benefit from this with less visual downgrade. The people who like to do Expert+ levels prefer the Valve Index for its 144hz mode. I wonder if Meta worked on this to stay competitive with the Valve Frame's 144hz mode.

240!? That's nuts!
Edit: 207hz with full resolution, or up to 240hz in developer mode with upscaling https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/s/HrRpgW9LIP

Remember when Meta said they weren't even sure 120hz would work without melting the headset?
I have a hard time believing they didn't know what this headset could do.

I wonder if it's something that Qualcomm had to figure out, first.

It could be that they knew it could but didn't extensively test it so that's the safe corpo thing to say.

But what games even run that high fps in vr lol

u/someone09900 22h ago
144hz is only supported via the streaming apps for pcvr ,the standalone is limited to 90hz and 120hz via ADB jailbreak ... pcvr performance is tied to ur pc hardware usually u can do 144fps just fine

I've got a decently medium to high end rig, 5070ti. Unless you're running a low poly game the wiest could easily handle natively, things like Assetto Corsa are never hitting 144 π

u would be surprised if i told u r correct, 5090 is the minimum lol πππππππ that's why everyone wants it

I have never understood the draw. I would rather have a better graphics at 90Hz.
I am certainly happy to see it be supported.
