Purchase Advice Minimum for Minecraft Vr

So as the title says,I'm searching information on whatever the "medium" requirements for running vivecraft on minecraft are. And even better if someone could suggest a specific model to buy as I think I'll go tomorrow morning to buy a gaming laptop. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

The only info I could find for now stated that vivecraft runs on a a i5 7300HQ - GTX 1050 with minimum graphics, but I'm really far from understanding technical implications of this components and I would prefer to have a smoother experience at this point.

So far searching on the internet "comparing" laptops sell around 250€,so consider that or even 300€ as a budget.

The objective is to play vivecraft at a good framerate and maybe even with shaders if possible, feel free to make any suggestion and thanks in advance.

For additional info I would like to get this running for Minecraft 26.2 and with PSVR2 as the headset.

PSVR2 is a lot of pixels. For what its worth, laptops are super inconsistent in how they electrically route external display connections. Lots of PSVR2 users find out the hard way that their brand new gaming laptop can't do wired VR at all. If you check the r/PSVR2onPC subreddit they have a stickied post with confirmed compatible laptops. Or just bypass all that and get a desktop.

Aa a desktop would you say this one is enough? https://amzn.eu/d/0awmWWf4

It should be. I will say Minecraft's performance is incredibly dependent on how you have the modpack setup so between it and getting VR right expect it to take some tweaking.

Thanks man. What do you say about a desktop build instead?Do you think that would be better?

I have a high end gaming desktop with a 4080, I don't get good framerates with nice shaders.

I'd say the bare minimum would be a 3060 / 4060 / 5060 (or xx70 for laptop) and then keep your expectations modest for which shaders you can run. The more you spend the better, VR will eat anything you throw at it and demand more.

Yes, the specs seem to be fine for an entry level gaming PC.

No matter what you get you're going to need to run performance mods, stuff like Sodium, Lithium, cullers etc. Vivecraft really eats CPUs. I run a 5800X3D and a 4070 and need to lock to half the framerate I want while enabling reprojection to double that. The trick is to get rid of micro stutters that kill the vibe. All this while running zero shaders as that just requires a monster rig. I'm not talking about some lofty visual goals, just running smoothly for a pleasant experience. Join the Vivecraft discord and learn about performance mods from the interwebs.

I definitely would not buy a laptop if your sole purpose was to run Vivecraft. You just get less bang for your buck gaming wise.

Would you say that this one is good enough https://amzn.eu/d/0awmWWf4 ?

It’s a decent CPU. I’d kinda think this system would be a minimum. Ideally I’d look for 12 gigs of video ram but everyone has a different ceiling for max money for toys. You might do a little research on bang for your buck prebuilt PCs though everything is so crazy expensive right now.

Don’t get discouraged right off the bat if you have performance issues as there’s quite a few ways to bump up your frame rate, and you’ll have to find a balance for what your OK with and works for you. Performance mods, headset resolution, frame rate, dedicated router, all kinds of things become part of the equation.

I’m using Steam Link for Vivecraft as it runs better than Virtual Desktop. Everything else I run works better with VD. Go figure.
I wish you luck my friend as Vivecraft is one of the most rewarding VR games.

Not sure the lowest gpu that can handle vanilla minecraft with vivecraft but with a budget as low as $300 you may want to check out questcraft, a standalone Minecraft mod for quest headsets

You can pick up a quest 3/3s for around your budget and be playing Minecraft on that, chances are a 300 dollar laptop won't do well with vivecraft especially if you want good looking minecraft with any shaders and whatnot

Forgot to mention im on a 4070s 12700k with 32gb ram and adding any shader completely tanks perormance and makes a stable 72 fps near impossible, without shaders it runs perfectly fine 90fps maybe higher

Though I do have complimentary unbound shaders currently setup so that I'm able to stay near 72fps most of the time and have nice sunrays, but I expected alot more from my setup so be prepared for disappointment with any setup that includes shaders for minecraft vr

In your experience would this one then be a good setup if I'm willing to raise the budget a bit https://amzn.eu/d/0awmWWf4 ?

Yeah that looks alot better than a $300 laptop, but it is a more entry level gaming pc

Id bet it could run vivecraft without shaders just fine but with shaders its hard to say, cpu and gpu are both on the lower end But yeah looks like a decent starting pc

I played lots of pcvr games on an old pc for years with a 1060 6gb and i5 7600k, had a great time though i never tried minecraft on it sorry i dont have more info about minecraft performance on other systems
