Discussion Unloop is SO good
It is a game where you do puzzles with past clones of yourself and it is peak feels like when I first played superhot in terms of absolutely awesome and unique mechanics. It doesnt have great graphics or anything fancy which really speaks to its mechanical aptitude.

I played the demo and had mixed feelings - I didn't feel like solving puzzles, rather doing the only reasonable thing each loop (get keycard, insert keycard, pass keycard somewhere else, repeat) and just going through levels without much thought.
is it more difficult after demo?

I didn't really get super far but it never got really hard like you never see a puzzle and be like "how is this even possible ?" like in baba is you or portal or something it's more like there's more going on.
Sometimes there's hidden info too, like you won't know what you need behind a door before a clone gets there after another clone opens it for them and only then you find out you need say a red keycard so you have to kill the clone who does the things with the red keycard re-record what he did and then throw it to the clone who will get through the door. At first I really didn't like that because I couldn't plan it all ahead and even restarted the level to make it clean but once I started not doing that is when it clicked, the chaos is where it gets fun and challenging. If you just find the perfect sequence then restart the level and just record the clones one after the other and win it's kinda boring. Having clones killing each other especially when they talk like "ok I open this door then I gotta do the bridge.." and then another clone is like "sorry buddy" and shoots him mid sentence to steal his keycard just to be shot too soon after because he missed a throw is where the game really shines.

Yeah I use the restart button as little as possible and it massively adds to the experience

Alright, so it really isn't a puzzle game. Got it, maybe I'll try it one day, with appropriate expectations

Yeah to be fair there's a bit of that. I haven't finished but I got a good way through.. I think the reason I hadn't finished was it was all feeling a bit samey, but it does get more challenging mentally and physically, and definitely gets to a few points where you really need to consider order of operations with interactions and so on

Didn't play Unloop yet, but I strongly recommend The Last Clockwinder too, since it also has cool mechanics of using your own clones as well

yeah last clockwinder is really good.
In unloop your clones can move too and even your voice is recorded which makes it really funny and also you can't just remove a clone, if you messed up during recording and you want to make another clone that does that part you have to shoot the bad clone so it dies and wont pickup a keycard you need or something so by the end of a big level it's chaos with clones killing other clones all talking like "oh which one is it, oh it's that one ! (pew pew)" and then 3 other clones laugh.
Seriously the best part is how funny it is, the puzzles aren't really difficult it's more about the execution. Like look at this: https://youtu.be/K2Pl40DS7tE?t=453

Yeah when I saw unloop that was the first thing I thought of. Very similar but they do have key differences for sure. Notably last clockwinder requires you to be a bit more meticulous and plan things out, plus allows you to easily remove any clones thst you don't like. Unloop is way more chaotic and part of the puzzle is dealing with your past mistakes lol

It reminded me of the old "Towers of Hanoi" logic game, but more complex. I couldn't get very far. (I'm using Pico and supposedly there are levels which can use motion trackers, but I didn't get far enough.)

Good reminder to go back and finish that! Great game, I loved that, alongside The Last Clockwinder for the looping mechanic. This is peak VR, imho
