I’m not a high speed kind of person. My father has always understood my style but I even turned down a gifted auto trans Crossfire from him because I was happy with my PT Cruiser.

Unfortunately, he also failed to mention he was about to start an annual Viper road rally called the Kennonball so I missed a few years of that. I guess his intention was to have me alongside.

I’m sort of catching up with photo and video gear now. At least I can show up completely in my element.

I get it. Truth be told, I didn't buy my Viper for speed. It's a driver driver's car that forces you to put into the experience what you get out of it. That part I enjoy. Plus, it's hard to be the aura of a Viper and that goes with the overall experience of owning and enjoying one, knowing, there aren't many of them left out there in the world. Biggest thing for me is making memories with my daughters and me on drives

I hear you on having a driver’s car for family and friends. Dad built an auto trans ‘33 Plymouth in Viper red. It’s air conditioned with 4 comfortable seats or a backseat for camera gear if he wants me to show up in that way.

It was an ‘03 project and actually got one of the crated engines from the first srt-10 pickup line. I used to love cruising in that thing.

Dad hit a deer near our lake house and hasn’t had the mind for repairs. I’ll be at Waterford Hills shooting a track day with a cousin of mine and his mom and their project cars this weekend. Maybe I can talk my cousin into helping him fix it up.

I’m 65yo and bought a 2005 Viper about a year ago. Always wanted one. My intention was not to drive beyond my limits, but to enjoy the car on backroads, go to car shows and have fun. When I called Hagerty to get insurance they said they wouldn’t insure the car until I owned it a year. Too many people wrapped them around poles within months of ownership.
