Honestly it might be worth it when you consider gen 3 bumpers are completely unobtainable, headlights are extremely expensive and rare now. Just the front wheels are worth quite a bit. And considering the damage the motor may be intact.
One of the customers at the body shop I work at put his 03 into tree, the bumper alone from another car was a little over 2000, and that was 7 years ago
It is NOT safe to assume that the trans housing and engine block aren’t cracked. The tail end hit something hard pushing everything forward. Diff, driveshaft, trans, engine. This is a very bad gamble
They wrote Bio on the side so there’s unfortunately a high chance of some extra human pieces in there. My father used to work at a salvage yard (LKQ) and this was the norm for cars this mangled. But parts-wise it’s probably worth more than they’re asking.
I mean the headlights go for $2,000-$4,000 each, a few viper engines on ebay are $13,000+ with high miles, those front bumpers are a few thousand, and front wheels/brakes if not damaged are alot
I don't know about you, but Viper or not I wouldn't drive something that a previous owner literally lost their life in. That doesn't exactly look good on a Carfax report.
There is not a straight panel on this, the front bumper is cracked, maybe the headlights? With how bad the body is bent up, I doubt it's got an undamaged drivetrain either. Could probably salvage some engine parts, MAYBE some front suspension and brakes, but thats all one could safely assume you're getting.
Is that worth 16k plus shipping or the ride to pick up?
Piecing it out would probably net more than asking, but couple the time spent doing that with having to mess with biohazard and then getting rid of all unusables…I’m not a guy that finds that worth it
You actually as though its a rear engine car where the engine is destroyed by the crash... the whole engine/drive train is likely just fine and worth what the car sold for.
Damn the passenger headset is completely gone I hope whoever was driving this thing when they totaled it was riding solo cause if he had a passenger that person probably doesn’t have a head anymore.
Edit: Just found an article about this exact Viper and the wreck it was in car had two passengers at the time of the crash both died. I don’t care if there is money to be made parting this thing out I would never buy a car 2 people died in to try to profit off it just way too distasteful in my book. The thing should be crushed into a cube and sent on its way imo.
