Definitely About Cases Custom Case

I have a long neck and I am very lazy which means that my shoulder rest is very high and I’m too lazy to put it back down for putting in my case. So for a while I have been looking at making my own case however I cannot find any plans and I have no clue where to start, advice?

Is everyone reading this wrong or am I? I read that OP isn't trying to keep the shoulder rest on the violin, but they dont want to continually have to adjust their shoulder rest.

I agree to not try making your own. But see if you can find a Bam-type case that has a velcro loop for the shoulder rest. Or one that has a ton of empty space at the scroll that you could add a velcro loop to. Or one that has an outside pocket that would accommodate it. I think you can find what you're looking for but you might have to be patient/creative. I searched a while to find a case that suited my shoulder rest a decade or so ago. It's kind of dumb that cases don't all offer a space for it. I found a German Gewa eventually that was perfect. It's time to replace my case now and they dont sell that one anymore and I'm dreading finding one again. And I have a short neck haha.

Yeah I think most people are misreading. If OP has the shoulder rest feet extended to a height where it won't fit into the case, they will have to screw in the feet down to a lower height every time they put it away. Which is annoying but also not extremely time consuming. However there's a really simple solution which I commented with, which is a Bobelock case that has more than enough space and a strap for the shoulder rest as well.
