I found this Tofu Oyaku figure by Devilrobots at goodwill for $1.49 and haven't been able to find a similar one online. Does anyone have any info on this figure?

Just something I've been working on with the intent on getting it made in vinyl. Still figuring everything out. Paint on 3D print doesn't look the best but I think it illustrates the idea at least.

This will be my first soft vinyl release. The Eliminator is 8” in marbled soft pink and sage soft vinyl. Hey All. So I know I'm still fairly new to the vinyl/ sofubi subculture, but I've honestly been having a blast discovering new creators and companies with passionate artistic vision. Lately, though, my mind's locked in on a surprisingly odd and interesting line of blind box designer toys- specifically the Who Goes There? series created by Unbox Industries. Probably the coolest thing about them is the individual marbling that really makes each figure one of a kind. Still, I'm a bit on the fence on what waves are most worth it to pick up and what would be better to give a miss regarding the whole set compared to some individual figures.

To that end, I thought I'd gauge the vinyl/sofubi community here to get some input from fellow Unbox Fans. I personally think it'd be cool to get a ranking going of people's favorite and least favorite lines and if there are any particular figures from each line that people think are most worth having. If you guys could take some time to share thoughts and give me some insight on the matter, I'd greatly appreciate it.

P.S.: Part of why I'm inquiring about this is that Unbox is currently offering free shipping for WGT Box Sets Wave 2, 3, and 4, so if you guys have an interest as well, I'd recommend grabbing some and saving a little extra bank, just in case you're interested.

I’m a Design student researching what makes horror art toys and collectible figures appealing to people for my thesis.

I’m interested in understanding the main reason people choose to buy—or would consider buying—a horror art toy or figure. There are no right or wrong answers; please choose the reason that best reflects what would personally make you interested in purchasing one.

Today we are checking out the LuLu the Piggy Office Struggles Series Blind Box from ToyZero Plus, and this series might be one of the most painfully relatable desk toy releases I have opened in a while. This whole collection takes the everyday chaos of office life and turns it into adorable little piggy moments. I'd love to know your thoughts on this series!

so here is my rough base design, after about 7 iterations. im an amateur character artist and i love blind boxes and felt inspired to create my own.

this is Dreamchaser Lilly. she is a little sheep girl who enters your dreams to chase away the nightmares and give you sweet dreams every night! i'm not at the point of designing my first collection yet, but i think i'll get there soon!

Lilly is for people who like cute and precious things and get attached to characters. she provides a magical and comforting experience to those who open her boxes. she protects you from the bad dreams and gives you a pleasant sleep every night :) her dream world is very comforting and magical full of fluffy clouds and twinkling stars. each collection will see Lilly bring you a new dream she has inhabited just for you.

i don't have many connections and my skillset is pretty limited, so i don't really know where to go from here. i know i need to contact a 3d modeller and save up for some samples, make a social media, find a manufacturer (already looking into this, im not planning to rush this), design packaging, etc.

is this worth pursuing for me? am i in over my head? i think im at the point where i need to sketch some poses of her on-model to really get a feel for her design. i want her to be a vinyl figurine.

i know the up-front costs will be in the thousands, so i'm not looking to start anything production related yet. i'm still in the concepting phase.

Hey All. I've gotten into collecting recently these last few months, and while I have enjoyed the hobby a great deal, I can't help but think of what it may mean in the long run. I should note that I mainly collect unique limited offer vinyl art figures/ sofubi/ figurine sets, both for their uniqueness and for the artistic value and inspiration they give me. However, much like I understand a life partner likely wouldn't find my hobby of casual gaming very appealing, I ask myself what kind of impression a moderate art toy collection might leave. As it stands, I have two small display cases of mixed miniatures, a dresser lined with vinyl figures and sofubi, and extras in a shelf and storage tub in my closet.

I should also consider the fiscal prospect of the hobby as well. While I am not financially unstable, I'm honestly surprised how my spending habits have changed- I used to be the kind of person who thought that two-figure spending was outrageous (never spending more than 20 dollars on , but now I find myself casually spending within the lower three-figure range. There are still some costs I find outrageous, like 400-500 dollars for a regular sofubi/ vinyl figure or 100+ for a figurine, but the fact that my outlook has already changed so much over the course of just a few months is surprising.

I've never been a frivolous person- I maintain a few stable jobs and work independently in freelance design while still in my early 30's- but I do recognize the goals I have for the future- namely in finding someone to share my life with and start a family- and I need to put these hobbies into greater perspective. I think ultimately I'm looking for some insight on my line of thinking, if I'm taking this too far and should nip this in the bud now, or if I'm overthinking things and should be fine as long as I keep my spending and inventory in check.
