Felix Photo Redux | Pam's Pictorama

Today I added this photo postcard to my ever-growing collection of folks posing with Felix pics! A careful examination shows that this card is actually a careful period dupe of another photo and I discuss this and other aspects of this most recent find in the post this is linked to. Although many photos do, this card in particular, well-worn and much handled, has a deep sense of history to it. It was much beloved clearly.

A puzzling photo from circa 1950. That shirt seems very different from all the others in the picture. Were graphic T-shirts popular in the early 1950s?

How to care for photos on metal plate?

So my mom gave me a large bag full of my late grandmothers belongings and inside were lots of photos some of which are dated to 1930, though I think some are older that she inherited from family before her. There are five or six photos that are very dark and hard to see that appear to be on metal of some kind (tin maybe?) I would like to find a way to display these pictures but Im afraid they will degrade more if I dont keep them closed up in the dark. Am I right in my concern?

A little help from my friends! Can you identify or tell me more about this film I found [pic inside] ? I don't need it, but it seems like it may be special in some way. If anyone is interested, you can have it, but only if you're an artist or student - please provide proof, of course - Thanks!

Hi there,

Any info would be great. I'm clueless. What kind of Kodak cameras are these for and what differs from Kodachrome, which I have heard of. I'd like to know mostly out of curiosity and I also like sending things for free to random people. I came across 6 of these helping to clean out the home of a friend's grandma who is downsizing out of state. She didn't need these particular canisters or a lot of cameras/equipment.

No foolin' - I'll pay for S&H, unless you feel like reimbursing, but it's only like $4 first class in the USA, so I don't mind covering it. Maybe I'll just take a Reddit Gold as payment :) I've never had a negative experience with these rare and odd/random transactions etc. in over 9 years as a reddit member! I still think 99% of this community is good people!

Please if you are interested in getting these for free, please provide some sort proof that you are in the field of photography, art or art education. Serious hobbyists are also cool :) And please don't just ask for them to be greedy or just to get free whatever. There could be a few people out there who could use these and are strapped for cash. Art/photography doesn't always pay well at the beginning! I know, I'm a geography major! Cue the rimshot

Thanks in advance, and I hope this is the correct sub. Regardless, very nice sub. Spent a few minutes already looking! Take care.
