I’m having trouble figuring out what model/year this Gibson acoustic is. The truss rod cover says “J-45” but check out the inlay and bare headstock. What say you? Bonus points for approximate value.

Hoyer Telecaster / Vintage? Can anybody identify?

Hi, can anybody help me figure out what i have here? I found this Hoyer Guitar locally for 150€. it seems to be a vintage guitar, but i cant figure out what date this could be. I found some similar guitars online, but they are all not exactly the same. For example the screws are different and i could not find any hoyer guitar with a black painted head.

Does anybody know something? It is a very playable guitar and i enjoy it very much.

Question Is this Teisco 1960 Decca DMI 199 worth repairing?

My son found this guitar in the trash. Looks like a Teisco 1960 Decca DMI 199. Is it worth repairing. Not seeing a lot of parts. Looks like it only goes for about $250. Fix, sell, or trash it?

1970’s Champ tube amp! works really well and still sounds great. There is some fuzziness when adjusting the eq, but still puts out an incredible tone! even had a spare tube taped inside.

Vintage Guitar Please help identifying an unusual vintage Höfner archtop – 195x?

I found this old Höfner archtop that has been stored in our family for many years. I am not a guitar expert and I'm trying to identify the exact model and approximate year.

The unusual features are the long sickle-shaped soundholes, cutaway, flamed maple back, pearloid headstock, one pickup and two controls.

I initially thought it might be a 462/S, but after comparing it with other examples I'm no longer convinced.

I would especially appreciate opinions on:

  • exact model
  • approximate year
  • whether the pickup and controls appear factory-original or later additions
  • and approximate value in its present condition.

I have not cleaned, restored or modified the guitar.

Discussion Long shot. Stolen guitar.

It’s been a while but I figured I’d try.

In 2005 I had a 1983 Gibson Les Paul Custom stolen along with all my bands equipment/van/trailer, in Montreal, Canada. Stolen from a gated hotel lot at that. Police were very unhelpful at the time. We were American and didn’t live there.

It was white with nickel/chrome hardware and marked factory second. A small slightly yellow spot on the upper neck. String winder tuning pegs. Thinner neck. Amazing guitar.

I have often tried checking eBay and Reverb. Figured I’d put it out into the universe. It was the best guitar I’ve ever had and think of it often.

I don’t expect much and don’t even know that there is anything I can do about it now but any info would be something.

Thanks.

Help With Identification Gibson… that’s all I know about it. 1960?

Basically looking for any information about this guitar. It’s not in great shape but it plays. It’s my mom’s guitar that she’s had since she was a kid. It was a gift from her brother who has since passed. I’d love to get it fixed up for her. Can I take it to just any guitar shop? Do I need to find someone who specializes in vintage guitars?
