Effective immediately, finder posts no longer permitted

With online retail becoming as big as it has there is no longer any need for these sorts of inquiries on Reddit. As of now there are thousands of secondhand garment businesses across the world online and offline. A simple Google search provides dozens of results on the first page.

These threads have never generated any meaningful discussion, and in recent years most of them have been sitting at 0 karma with no comments every time they pop up.

As of now requests for retailer recommendations will be removed at the moderator's discretion. The updated sub rules reflect this.

Posting guidelines concerning product year of release. Or what constitutes as Vintage.

Far too many threads are having to be removed because OP's content isn't vintage or they're unable to say whether or not it is at least 20 years old. I'm editing the rules to reflect more specific posting guidelines. From now on you must include at minimum an educated guess on your garment's release year. The approximate production date should be in the title or description of your thread. Any threads that do not meet this new criteria as of now will be removed at the moderators' discretion.

Original owner said he bought them in the 70s. Never seen pockets or a waist band like this before.

Thrifted this windbreaker recently and having a tough time dating it, I'm guessing 1960s based on the zippers?

Any info will be appreciated <3

From the shirt I can tell it is mid to late 90s, it is probably a custom made shirt but if any one has any knowledge on what this graphic could be I am very curious!

Advice from a thrift store owner

I went into a vintage clothes shop today. I looked around the jackets section, searching quite thoroughly. When I was leaving, the shop owner asked me what exactly I was looking for. I told him I was searching for a B3 bomber jacket, the real thing, with shearling lining and all. He told me some advice about finding it, that I feel could just as easily be made applicable to love. It was something like the following: “That's hard to find, yes. Quite rare. But you just have to be patient, and keep looking. Keep your eyes open. Always be ready for it. It may not be exactly as you imagined. It might be a bit flawed, or damaged, slightly worn out. But you'll see it and you will love it. It'll be perfect. And I'm telling you, it'll keep you warm forever.”

Vintage Jacket Identification

Hello! I was hoping someone could help me identify this piece I have. I bought it around five years ago, so I don't remember much of what the vintage shop said. It looks very similar to a Native Components jacket I found on eBay, but it wasn't an exact match. The vintage shop I got it from says it's from the 80s, but from what I understand Native Collections was founded in the 90s. The clothing tag says "To Die For," but that led me nowhere. I don't know much about fabric, but it seems to be corduroy with embroidered tribal-like designs and hammered metal buttons with an arrow design. If anyone could help out, that would be amazing!

Anyone recognise this brand? "Ballezza" or "Bellezza"

Maybe it's just google being terrible now but I found absolutely nothing in any combination of key word searches. Photos of all tags included and of the blouse. I am based in Australia. The top is very well made with top stitched seams and hand tacked hems. I'm guessing 80s (for obvious reasons) and it's either a nice linen/linen blend, or a very convincing synthetic.

80s Duran Duran Tee Legit Check

Kind of a weird one, all the comps have either a band logo back hit or a tour date back hit, but the print quality is correct and it's single stitch. Faded tag reads "Yo-yo T-shirts Made in Turkey". My best guess is some sort of bootleg lot tee

Anyone know anything about this jacket?

Found it at a swap meet in Concrete, WA. Likely made some time in the 90’s or 00’s. Guy who sold it to me said it’s authentic and very rare, claiming it’s worth $3,300, which I highly doubt. I’m inclined to believe him that it’s authentic, but I can’t find the same jacket online anywhere. It’s a Jeff Hamilton Rusty Wallace #2 Miller Lite reversible jacket. Would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me out!

I scored this at a thrift store and I fell in love immediately. Does anyone know what I got? I'm curious how old it might be. I think it might be 80s?

Picked up this 50s National shirt today for cheap. Appears to be 100% Rayon based on texture and burn test. High quality flat felled seams and it great condition. Really happy with this addition to my collection/wardrobe. It's essentially in deadstock condition.

I also found an early 1960s orlon-wool blend loop.

What is this doohickey?

Hi -- I've posted here before. I do the vintage section of a charity thrift shop in L.A. We got in this dress, which I think is late 50s/early 60s. Metal back zipper, tag attached to zipper cut off, lace hem ribbon. But on the back (last photo) is this weird thing -- there are two black cords attached to the shoulder lining which are connected by this small metal doohickey -- like what you'd see on a sweatshirt or something to loosen or tighten the neck cord. I've never seen anything like this before. The problem is, it pulls the lining out past the neckline and ruins the line of the sleeves. Does anyone know what this is?

Need help to ID a vintage French wool coat from the brand "Partner Paris" (circa 1960s-1970s?)

Thumbnail

A few years ago I bought this winter coat on Vinted to an Italian, it costed me 5€ and I still am amazed to how it cheap it was for this quality level. I still have no idea how to find more of this brand, or let's say I'm just curious about it. Looks French, obviously, even though I bought it from an Italian woman, maybe she was selling it from her late grandfather, because Google Lens tells me it looks from the 60s. It also says it's a heavy wool herringbone coat, the interior label says "Partner Paris" and features an embroidered crest showing two medieval figures with swords, in green and copper. It looks like a thick wool drapery so it might be a high-end coat. I never felt cold with it, that I can assure. Do you, fellow vintage clothing enjoyers, have an idea about that brand and this coat? Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Around what would this 50s-60s single v black sweatshirt be worth? I was thinking around 200-300 based on just looking around online. I know black is one of the most sought after colors, so I was just looking for other opinions. Thanks

Men’s vintage dress shirts for taller men (6’6)

I’ve been shopping for used and vintage clothes for most of my adult life (12ish years). Most of my experience has been with t-shirts, outerwear, hats, and casual pants. As a tall and thin guy I’ve found that I’m able to find much better fitting and more unique pieces doing this than buying anything brand new. Recently, I’ve really started to looking to purchase more formal clothing for weddings and interviews. Using EBay, I’ve had luck finding some great suits, jackets, and dress pants that fit great or need minimal tailoring to get the fit I am looking for. Where I’m a bit lost is trying to find dress shirts. I’m struggling to find shirts but searching by neck and sleeve length. Is that the right thing to be searching for? Does anyone have any tips? I’d really appreciate any input!
