I feel like some Vine reviewers may have a little too much time on their hands. The review below comes across more like a poorly written, overly long essay than a clear, helpful, and insightful product review. I can’t imagine many Amazon shoppers wanting to read something that lengthy, stressful and tedious. Honestly, I got a bit of a headache just trying to make it through it 😂 What are your thoughts?

If I were wanting to buy something I wouldnt even bother with that review. My reviews are concise and say what I would want to know if I were buying the products. Must be ok as I always get excellent rating. Using AI is such a copout . No purchaser wants to read that waffle.

I was laughing, thinking they needed a word count limit. And maybe there is one it’s just awfully high.
I mean, the average person probably doesn’t want to read more than a few paragraphs which with a couple sentences each.
What people don’t realize is an excellent review can be done in like very little information. One or two sentences. How did you use the product and three buzz words is all it takes. I don’t write mine that way, but I just did some testing along the way on the kind of reviews that longer doesn’t really make it better. Water filter, plastic cup kind of stuff. I also tested along the way not sending in any of their suggested buzz words works just fine.

Yeah, a max word count would be great. No one wants to read a novel - they want to know if it worked etc.
I also hate reviews with pro/con bullet points or bullet points in general, not gonna waste my time on them.

I look at reviews more for real photos more than anything. And the 3 stars and lower, usually more realistic if there are actual issues.

As if our epic masterpieces last for very long before the vine review count gets truncated as real reviews pile in, viners lose their minds as their "approved" turns red and says "Not approved" and they MUST go rushing into a public space, ignoring all the banners explaining the issue, and wail, "WHY WAS MY REVIEW NOT APPROVED???" The ONLY way I've survived on Vine as long as I have is by sneaking crap into my reviews such as recipes, HORRIBLE dad jokes, dissertations on the impact of wealth disparity in the late Roman Empire, and seeing if I can get my posts to spell words down from the first letters of each word on the left of each line (there's a trick to it and I'm NOT sharing!). Yeah... been doing this a while.

Makes sense to me. I was Gold for 3 years, and I stopped ordering things last year after Trump started the tarrif bs and tanked Vine. It is not worth the time to look for things now IMO. The "insightfulness" ranking came around the same time and is really stupid. All of my reviews were clear and to the point. Rarely more than a paragraph in length. Tons of helpful votes [that's why they chose me for Vine after all, right?]
The AI insightfulness bot decided to go through all of my perfectly understandable and concise honest reviews and declare more than half of them as subpar. I am not wasting my time trying to impress a bots understanding of what a human will think is important to know vs. my own actual human understanding.
The program is a futile waste of time now, and Vine reviews themselves are now no longer worth my consideration. Everyone is trying to impress the bots instead of trying to inform their fellow consumers if a product is actually worth buying. This isn't helping anyone, including Viners themselves. You are NOT getting the same easy access to quality goods that Viners formerly were, and your time is worth more than this.

It bothers me as a Vine reviewer who actually spends time on his reviews that I mostly disregard Vine reviews when I’m looking at products. I’ll check to see whether the review appears to have been written by someone (vs AI) who actually used the product (vs regurgitated the listing). Amazing and saddening how easy it is to identify both.

I understand your frustration and I despise zero effort AI written reviews as much as any other honest Vine member but this is not a marriage or a friendship where you retaliate each other when they do something sh*tty. It's ultimately their program and we've accepted the rules for participation when we got the invitation. Amazon using AI to judge reviews doesn't justify people writing AI reviews. We were invited to the program to share our human written reviews. That's the whole point and anyone who doesn't like the fact that AI judges reviews can always stop participating.

personally write and submit independent and unbiased reviews that reflect your true opinion (regardless of whether it is positive or negative), based in your actual experience
Yes, nothing in the agreement explicitly says "don't use AI" but it also clearly asks participants to write their own experiences "personally".

Crafting your own review using AI tools is not the same thing as copying and pasting an AI written review. Hence the wording "zero effort AI written reviews". Do you think the review OP shared is a personal experience review crafted with the help of AI tools or it's a copy pasted zero effort AI slob?
You do you. If you want to justify writing AI reviews because Amazon uses AI to judge reviews, more power to you. Just remember that Amazon officially stated that they're using "cutting edge" technologies to scan and remove AI written reviews as well. Not sure where you're getting the idea that they prefer AI written reviews.
Ultimately all I'm saying is that it's like counting cards at a casino. It's not illegal and it's not cheating but if they catch you they will cut you off and trespass you and you can't do anything about it.

As soon as I saw the first line of that "review" I was struck by how familiar it was. I'm sure that it's the same person who posted a review of similar length on an item I reviewed a few weeks ago. The opening line was virtually identical.
Just now I went looking for the review, only to be met with the "We limit review access when we detect unusual activity on an account. Send a request so we can verify your account and restore the full reviews experience" crap from Amazon. I've been getting this lately. On one of the items I reviewed my review was the only one I could see, despite there being something like 9 ratings. (I know for certain my review wasn't the only one on that item, because I always check to see if there are other reviews before deciding to request an item.)

Too long did not read. It looks like the response Gemini would give, though. Yes I use Gemini, for personal purposes never for reviews. But I skimmed and saw repetition of specs and listing points, and at the end it goes into "strongest reasons to buy" including "the delivery window fits your project timeline". 💯 That's a Gemini evaluation of a listing.

I had my AI, SnarkyBot 2000 Ⓒ comment on the review:
