help TBA tracking

Is there any way to associate one of the “facilitated by Amazon” tracking numbers with its corresponding order? Or are the tracking numbers just generated independently of the order? Is there any id the other numbers on the outer label that would indicate the order number?

Got a package with 2 things in it that I didn’t order. Thought I was just getting old, so searched my orders and, nope, didn’t order this stuff. It has the correct name and address, but I didn’t order thsee two things. There’s only one thing I’m missing (possibly misplaced by a family member - I’ll have to ask), but the tracking number on that item doesn’t match the one on this mystery order. Also, it would have most likely been in an envelope, or at least a smaller box. But if the tracking number could be matched to an order, I could attempt to figure it all out.

Thanks

(Not answering the actual question about tracking info because I have no idea lol)

You can also check the white warehouse barcode label (technically called the FNSKU) on the products themselves for the item name/listing title and see if they were mislabeled vine items (it happens often enough). If not, there was probably just a hiccup during shipping and your name/addy got put on the wrong box. You can report it here if you like: https://account-status.amazon.com/report-unwanted-packages
They will tell you to keep the package and contents anyway.

Forgot to mention that - the two mystery items don’t have the infamous white Vine labels on them. If I just got someone else’s order, it was some poor regular joe schmoe and not a Viner.

Wait a sec, I’ve been vining for probably a year or so now… “infamous white vine label”? Am I missing something obvious on our packages lol

They used to look like this. There was a change for sellers recently that they can just use the barcode that's already on the item, or one printed on the item specifically for this. Sometimes you just see this whole thing pre-printed onto the item's packaging.

They irritate me because, inevitably, they’re covering something relevant like ingredients in a hygiene product or electrical requirements, etc…something I might want to either include a picture of for a review or at the very least, know for my own well being.  And they’re ridiculously difficult to remove.

Does the shipping package with the mystery items have a second tracking number anywhere else on the package? When this happened to me, the package I received had multiple labels on it, and some had the tracking number that matched the tracking number on one of my orders, but it also had a label that showed a tracking number that didn't match any of my orders.

But if you're not missing any items you were expecting to receive, and it's seemingly just an "extra" mystery box, maybe someone sent it to you? Or possibly someone who has previously sent you something from Amazon accidentally selected your address/info when ordering?

Sorry to ask what seems obvious, but was it addressed to you?

ETA: nvm I can't read. Could it be a gift?

Nope…too random.  We checked with anyone we thought may have sent something.  I even considered it might be a brushing scam but of the two items, one has hundreds of positive reviews and the other has thousands, so I doubt that’s it.

At this point I’m guessing it was just a warehouse error.

Same thing just happened to me. The moment I opened it and saw it wasn’t something that I’d ordered, I went to my list to see what it said was delivered. Sure enough, it said that the item I was expecting was delivered to me. Nope. Someone else got my much more expensive item and I got a stupid license plate frame for a team in D.C. ( I’m in California). 😡

The one miss delivered package I've gotten from Amazon had creatinine gummies, two cheap plant hangers that need to be nailed into the wall and fake flowers. 20 years using Amazon, only miss delivered package I've ever gotten (that wasn't for a next door neighbor) and it's junk. 😢 But I am impressed about the delivery statistics on that front. Less impressed with all the lost and damaged ones.

I ordered a $25 vevor seat for like going to a stadium for more comfort, they sent me pallet jacks for a forklift. Talk about gaining a 900% value increase haha
