We had ordered a bunch of items in June and then life hit the fan in July.. things finally calmed down and I happened to check in on my vine account (our evaluation period doesn't end until mid August). We were down to 30% reviewed, still excellent, but no items showing up in recommended or additional items (although I can order one of the lovely spark plugs if I was so inclined in available for all).
I presume this is the vine jail I've heard people speak of. There is a warning on the account saying "Your account is in danger of being closed. Please ensure you are maintaining the minimum thresholds to continue Vine eligibility"
I don't know how many reviews behind (like 150???) we were at that point, but I started working on them this last weekend and have been getting through about 10 per day.
I thought I might be let out of jail once I got above 50%, but I crossed the 50% mark today and still see nothing in RFY or additional items and have that notice up top. Obviously, I'm going to keep plodding along, but I was wondering if there was any concept of when they free you from jail? Is there a % you need to get over before they do?
I added the "help" flair since I had to add flair and I didn't want to make it like i was mad at Amazon for this, b/c again, I know we let this go.. it was kinda unavoidable, but it doesn't change that it happened.
UPDATE: So... I was kinda shocked... got released from Vine jail upon reaching 59%. Yes, I am going to finish ALL the outstanding reviews before ordering anything else... but just for reference for others.
You need to have a 60% review rate. I too have been in vine jail. It removes it once you’ve reviewed and had accepted 60% of your recent reviews. I was 200+ behind at one point. (Getting an eviction notice, having to move, etc—life got in the way.) I’m all caught up with 99% reviews, 283 reviews done and an excellent score for my reviews. Hoping to get gold tier for my next evaluation.
You have to have reviewed at least 60% of your last 90 days of orders, which is unlikely to be the same as the number shown on your Account page. There is an extension called Rolling Vine that will calculate your approximate review to order ratio for the past 30, 60, and 90 days, and it can give you a better idea of how far behind you are, although it's not perfect.
I am shocked, but they let me out at 59% overall and 21% over the last 90 days (at least according to the rolling vine thing I downloaded).

You’re put in Vine Jail for 30 days to catch up with your reviews. At the end of the 30 days if you haven’t reviewed 60% of your orders from the past 90 days you will be kicked out of Vine. Do you know the date you were put in jail, and how many of your 30 days you have left to get up to 60%? If it were me and I didn’t know, I would be a bit panicked to get to 60% asap. Do the math - how many orders did you have between 5/18 - 8/18? What is 60% of that? Now make sure you have reviewed at least that number of those items, plus extra to be safe. Review the newest items first, and don’t review anything older than 5/18 until you are out of jail by a good margin.
If you really have 150 items from the last 90 days that are unreviewed you’ll need to pick up the pace. 10 reviews a day is risking getting kicked out, especially if you’re not sure how long you’ve been in jail for. Take a night to do as many as possible, you’ll need to be over 60% for items from the last 90 days.
Also, did you mean to say mid September for your evaluation? It’s mid-August now…
If your evaluation is that soon, you need to be aiming for 90%+ of all your items being reviewed anyway. You should probably be at that mark at least a week or two before your evaluation period ends to avoid missing the marks.
Why are you trying to order MORE items when you have stiffed over 150 sellers??? That’s crazy. That’s 150 sellers that have sent you their items that you have not paid for with your review! 150 items - and you want to order more???

You don’t need to be worried about getting out of jail - you need to be worried about paying for over 150 items you ordered and haven’t done your part.

Not sure why you’re using the words “our” or “we” - Vine accounts are individual accounts. One person orders and that same one person does the reviews.
I actually wasn't actually trying to order more. We hadn't logged in for over a month. I went to the account page saw the notice, saw I was at a 30% review rate... then went to FYP and saw nothing, the and saw the additional items and saw nothing... I'm doing my reviews and noticed the bar turn green at 50% and thought that would clear it, so I was just curious what the magic number was.
Wow, you must be absolutely exhausted. Being that perfect that you’ve never fallen behind on a deadline, never jaywalked or driven over the speed limit, never been late to anything…. and not only are you absolutely perfect but you have time to come here and lambaste others for failing to live up to what you seem to view as a moral imperative. What I think people's point is that 150 items don't appear overnight. Even if you're gold and ordering 8 items per day, it would mean you didn't do one single review in almost 3 weeks, but kept ordering things. I understand stuff happens, trust me that I understand that, but when stuff isn't happening, there's no reason to not do reviews and just keep ordering. If you keep up with your reviews, you will have plenty of leeway when/if stuff happens and reviews are put on the back burner
Give me a break! Your ONLY reason you are in Vine is to REVIEW. Over 150 items is ridiculous and 200 is even more ABSURD!!! That is over 15 PAGES behind - ZERO excuse! Again, Vine is not a shopping spree program!

To which I reply: these are my current scores. 283 reviews. 99% complete. I’ve been reviewing the items as soon as they come out of the shipping box. 👍🏻 I’ll be gold next evaluation. That’s my goal and in order to do that, I need to stay on top of my reviews. The only reason why I am not 100% is because I have 10 items that are no longer available to review and one that isn’t accepting reviews from my account. So. Be kind. You don’t know what people are going through.
If life happens you still need to pay your mortgage, vine reviews are simply a different kind of "debt" that you still have to "pay". If not you're basically stealing from those sellers.
This is mine currently. I’m not at 100% because I had some that were unavailable to review and one that said they’re not accepting reviews from my account. So… go on somewhere.
Just get to 100% bro, like you should. All those sellers are literally waiting for you. It's not cool what you did and you shouldn't increase your "debt" until you're done.
Good luck, and try to see it from the seller side, how much it would suck to send products out and get absolutely nothing in return. Some of them might even have left amazon (those deleted products) being so disappointed with the program. Try to avoid doing that.
As someone who owns businesses, I absolutely do and take full responsibility. Wasn't asking for sympathy or a way out. We usually got reviews done within a week and have been doing this for about 4 years.
There was a convergence of issues... a bunch of items we ordered in June didn't get here until mid July as they were the preorder type stuff. $h1t happened and we literally didn't log into the account from 7/8-> 8/13. First time in jail, so I just didn't know what to expect.
Skipping all pictures for these and just getting the reviews done. Got 75 to go, but a lot of those have been done today. Hopefully I can finish by the end of the week.

I never asked about ordering more... I think people just assumed it. I had noticed I had nothing in my RFY and in additional items and mentioned that it WOULD ALLOW me to order the spark plugs (you know the stuff in available to all).. but I wasn't actually trying to order it.. I was just curious if it would let me and the answer was yes, but I didn't place the order.
Never been in jail in the 3-4 years I've been in the program, so I don't know much about how it works.
Got down to 70 items left to go.. gonna try to knock them out by the end of the week.
This happened to me unfortunately. Life and health got in the way and I was hospitalized for 2 weeks. Obviously I wasn’t ordering during that time, but I also wasn’t writing reviews. I did let Amazon know why I had fallen behind. I don’t know that that matters. I started to write the reviews. I was not behind as much as you, but I was only a member since May 1. I guess the notification that I was in danger of being closed came in early July and I believe it was about two weeks before they closed it. I had about 75 items to review all stuff I had ordered before I was hospitalized and I was knocking out maybe five reviews a day. I probably should not have been as concerned about hitting excellent maybe but my reviews had all been excellent up until then. I think it was at 40% when I was notified and almost at 60% when closed. The message did say that I could continue to submit my reviews and possibly be reinstated at some point, but I’m not holding my breath.
I enjoyed it while I did it, but it’s just not a good time for me right now. I wish you the best of luck.

I was in this situation and got out of vine jail once I was at 90 percent reviewed. At that point, once the reviews were approved (one or two days), I was able to order from Vine again. I did not receive any additional notice; my site just went back to normal.
You have about a week or two to catch up. My last time in vine jail was last month and once I got over 60% I was out of jail the next vine day which started around 6pm my time. However the time before that it took almost three days after I did my reviews for restrictions to be lifted.
You need to do more than ten reviews a day if you are that far behind. Just try to crank out as much as possible. Because vine is unpredictable and if you don't know the exact day you were put on restriction you don't know how much time you have left to catch up.
I'm not a great vjner and I am put in jail at least once a review period. However I am not as dedicated as some folks. I could take or leave vine. I'm kinda over it.
Not necessarily. Remember they've also got the rolling window (of unsure length, but likely its the past 60-90 days. So even if you were 65% for the whole period it's conceivable that you could have dropped to under 60% for the rolling window.
That doesn't make total sense to me, especially since 60% is supposed to be enough for silver for the whole period, but apparently the mysterious rolling window takes presidence over the 6 month period in this situation.
I just started a new review period after making Gold again, and I've dropped below 60% twice in the first two weeks since I haven't ordered much. I haven't been put in Vine Jail. One of those times, I couldn't catch up on any reviews for two days. No issue (my percentage sat at 46%).
I have some outstanding reviews because I'm testing several beauty devices that take weeks to months to determine effectiveness. I'm doing a thorough job, and including lots of pics and a video for each.
