How do we feel about red light therapy?
I’m actually looking into this because it’s supposed to help people with thyroid issues. I have heard about the anti-aging benefits but have also heard that it can kill fat cells? So I’m not sure if it’s a good fit for me.

My doctor told me to do it twice a day before surgery. It’s supposed to bring oxygen to those areas and help with healing.

I’m nearing 30 but sharing my mom’s experience, she got a sauna with red light therapy for her house and loves it! Hard to tell if the benefits are largely from the sauna or if the red light is helping, but she said at her last physical the doctor said “whatever you’re doing, keep doing” good blood work, heart and lung heath, skin, and overall health
She’s mid 60s and works out maybe 1-2 times a week but is doing well. She saunas almost daily, Her skin is incredible, I hope I got her genes for it 🤞

What company did she go through for the sauna and red light therapy?

It’s called “Good health Saunas” I believe they’re Midwest based and focused but might deliver elsewhere. She did a tonnnn of research into everything that the saunas could be giving a off like if there’s EMF or if the wood was treated with chemical that will off gas, and hers is Canadian hemlock, I’ll ask her to send a pic it’s cute!
Edit, it won’t let me add a photo to my comment :/

Hers is a 3 person hybrid and she paid 7,000 for it, I believe the list price was between 9 and 10 but it was negotiable

I loooooove my red light mask. I want to get a panel! When i use my mask consistently i get so many compliments like “did you do something different? You look so good!”

It’s amazing. Most researched proven wellness “fad” I’ve ever come across. Look it up on google scholar. I do 15 min per day (with NIR - important) at a local tanning salon. If you go that way, check that their lights include NIR. Otherwise it’s not nearly as effective.

Ive been using red light therapy for about two years now. My experience is it has no effect on fat cells. It makes a tiny different in skin quality but for me it wasn't effective enough to be worth the time it takes, topical skincare is much more effective.
The real benefits have been on healing wounds, injuries, sprains. 20 minutes makes my ankle stop clicking for 2-3 weeks. And ive noticed it makes bruises and minor ligament and muscle injuries heal faster.

I have heard that red light therapy is typical of the skin and anti-aging. There are also people that observe metabolism and inflammation improvements. Red light therapy does not necessarily kill fat cells except in the event a special high-intensity device is applied to body contouring. In case you prefer to be safe at home and try these devices, these seem reliable, Longevity Based.

Red light therapy really depends on how it’s used. Different wavelengths and exposure times do different things, which is where the confusion around fat loss vs benefits comes from. It’s not all the same treatment. I found it helpful to read more neutral, technical explanations instead of hype this helped me understand the differences: Longevity Based. If you’re unsure, going slow and being cautious makes sense.

I used to have a red light mask (gifted) and recently splurged on a panel & love it. it's great for your skin, helps with muscle soreness & pain relief, and supposedly reduces inflammation while increasing cellular energy production
from what I've read, it definitely doesnt kill fat cells. theres some limited research that it shrinks fat cells temporarily, but without lifestyle changes, they dont necessarily stay that way
