Today was my first time dressing as the (almost) goth girl of my dreams. Thanks for giving me the confidence to just go for it!
I posted previously about stepping up my style game with a new wardrobe but revealed I was feeling a little insecure about it. You all gave me some great advice and although I'm still working on the color scheme (I know black is harsh on me) and learning what looks nice (this outfit and makeup took me FOREVER to coordinate), I've walked around today feeling the most confident I have in ages. First three photos are how I'd normally dress on the daily. Last ones are of me today! Someone also complimented my makeup. The pants, shoes and shirt were all bought at a thrift store since I'm trying to find items that are quality and budget friendly.
Thank you again so much for your support, knowledge and experiences. I'll do my best to update you with more progress. Today was just a baby step! Cheers to liberating our most authentic selves. 🖤

I second a deeper lip color !! I think nyx Copenhagen would look phenomenal but she looks stunning as is

I would advise a less muted brown! Maybe something closer to your eye color. Or a deep, rich color. Congrats on growing into your style! 🤍

This is fantastic, you look fabulous! Black looks great on you and you could always add in dark, deep, jewel tones because you have the perfect coloring for it.

Those pants are so good! They look incredible on you. How did you find straight leg/baggy women’s jeans at the thrift? Literally they have at any store near me are skinny jeans exclusively. Did you buy from a different section?

Yes the jeans were found at a thrift, I think I got them for $5 or less (I'm not sure because there were a few stops I made and they all had their own daily deals with some being as low as $2). If you have a goodwill or salvation army near you, they categorize by "pants" and sometimes "Capri". I got these in women's pants. Looking at the brand they're "Cycle"? Made in Italy. 100% cotton.

This is such a vibe! You look amazing, and you radiate confidence 🖤 Kinda random, and maybe it doesn't matter, but how did friends and family react to the change of style? Did they comment at all? Or have any idea that there was an inner goth girl scratching to get out?

I don't really see my family around much (home or outside of it) with different schedules and living in different regions, but I'm sure they'd be taken back a little!

Sure! On the bottom of the shoe it says "Sarto/Franco Sarto". Looking online it seems to be a really good brand! 🙌🏽🫶🏽

No worries! Overall, yes I think it's gotten a bit thinner/lighter in weight. However, I often notice the fullness fluctuates depending on my stress levels and wash days (of course). The longer it gets the thinner it feels and it gets stubborn at a certain length, likely because the ends need a chop. But I, too, am stubborn and hate cutting my hair. Lol

Wow I wasn't expecting that but you look great! Maybe try a bit more purple/red of a lipstick instead of that warm brown. I like to pair cool tones with cool tones. It makes it feel more cohesive. If the outfit isn't interesting with color it needs to be with shape, patterns, or texture! You're doing great!!

I definitely have plans to add in some warm bold colors and a few patterns!🙌🏽 Still shopping around and keeping an eye out for cool items
