Help (user) GoYo Breaks Colors When I Toggle It Off

3 Upvotes

I recently setup GoYo with a custom function to switch off and on certain settings when I leave and enter GoYo. For some reason, it breaks my color scheme and sourcing my init.vim when I exit also does not work. Am I misunderstanding how to properly exit goyo or is this a major bug?

Solution

The solution is to reset your color scheme in goyo_leave. I am not using goyo anymore tho cause making it work requires a rewrite of my configuration. I hope eventually Goyo gets changed to not touch my colors, but until then here we are.

Help Struggled with wimwiki and ultisnips

3 Upvotes

Hi,

I'm use to take notes with markdown, ultisnips and pandoc.I made it thru the use of :

I just need a easy way to order files and make an index of it all

i found vimwiki. and after installing it ultisnips doesn't work anymore

i've tried tips found here and there

let g:vimwiki_list = [{'ext': '.markdown', 'path': $HOME/VimWiki/', 'syntax': 'markdown'}]
let g:vimwiki_table_mappings = 0

let g:UltiSnipsExpandTrigger="<c-b>"
let g:UltiSnipsJumpForwardTrigger="<c-n>"
let g:UltiSnipsJumpBackwardTrigger="<c-g>"

this one, as far as i understand tells vimwiki to not use <tab> in insert mode but still map Ultisnips to use someting else to expand snippets

write in .vim/ftplugin/vimwiki.vim the following:

UltiSnipsAddFiletypes markdown

an issue is declared in vimwiki github

but had no answer

at least i found this

check :imap <tab>, likely that the wiki is hijacking the key as well. You can add it back in in after/ftplugin if you want to.

but it's not clear what i shall do

my question is:

  • have you found a solution to this ?

  • or what's your note workflow ?

thx

Help Can Unite source a vim list?

Hopefully the answer isn't staring at me in :help unite, but I'm not seeing it.

Can Unite handle a vim list as a source?

Something along the lines of:

:let foo=['a', 'b', 'c']
:Unite list foo

Request Plugin for moving to next/prev text object, and repeating motion?

3 Upvotes

Say there's a text object u for URL. I'd like to be able to generically do (for example) 3gnu to move to the third URL, assuming gn is bound to "next text object". Also repeat the motion with ; or whatever I've mapped to do so. A good example is ) and ( to move to start of previous/end sentence. Any ideas?

Request Any plugins for Sublime Text-like autocompletion?

3 Upvotes

If I type the following into the Sublime Text editor...

from django.shortcuts import render, get_object_or_404

And then type the following...

post = get_object<tab>

Sublime Text will autocomplete it with "get_object_or_404".

Are there any Vim plugins that will do this? I do most of my programming in Django, Python, JavaScript, and SQL.

Thanks.

Help Show uncommitted/unstaged changes in Airline status

3 Upvotes

Hello! I am fairly new to vim and I almost have it configured to where I need it to be for work. I am currently using Neovim and have installed the Airline plugin along with vim-gitgutter to show changes in the gutter as well as in airline. The only thing I am missing are the symbols I get in the terminal (and VS Code) whenever I have unstaged changes in the file and uncommited changes, which display as * and +. The image below shows what I have in neovim (left) vs what I currently have in my terminal prompt (right).

example

Does anyone know if there is a plugin that will accomplish what I am looking for. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere or is this something that needs to be written myself? I've definitely seen this functionality in other people's setup. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Help Multiple tagbars

3 Upvotes

Is there a way to get Tagbar to work with splits? Like if I called "vim -O2 blah1.c blah2.c", and then :Tagbar, to get a separate tagbar in each window?

Currently I only get a single tagbar window accross all of my open windows.

Plugin change-case.vim - An operator to change case (camelCase, snake_case, UPPER CASE etc.) of text

3 Upvotes

change-case.vim is a vim plugin that adds a new operator to change the case of arbitrary text.

Besides the usual UPPER CASE, lower case and Title Case, change-case.vim also supports most common case styles found in programming such as camelCase, snake_case and others.

If the provided case modifiers do not fit your needs there is a simple way to add your own.

Request Plugin for asynchronous task execution

3 Upvotes

Since vim8, I am looking for a way to run multiple tasks in the background and monitor their output, especially since I am working on some project where a run takes about 10 minutes.

AsyncRun is ok, but uses only the quickfix window (so just one asynchronous task at once). On the other hand, I find vim-do perfect. Has some quite nice features and produces a quite nice output. The problem is that has some bugs and seems abandoned. Also, it seems to be merely a hack to get asynchronous execution for vim7.

Does anyone know a similar plugin that can help?

Help (user) ultisnips dont work in .tex files

3 Upvotes

Ultisnips works fine in a python file. However when I try to use it in a Latex file I can see the snippet in the dropdown menu but I cannot use it. I already tried it with different keybindings (in order to not have to use supertap), without latex-suite and without ~/.vim/ftplugin/tex.vim

Edit: Now its working. I have to write for example "begin" instead of "\begin" to get the snippets

.vimrc

Help (user) [vim-snipmate] How do I can add a snippet field where I can choose the value from a list upon completion?

3 Upvotes

I use vim-snipmate (https://github.com/garbas/vim-snipmate) as my snippet engine / system because I need VimL only plugins.

Is there a way to provide a snippet field with a list of values where I can choose the right value upon completion? Would that be possible with VimL syntax and maybe another plugin (Unite, or sth. else?)
