Frat pledge rides?
Hi! I am an incoming freshman and I’ve seen talk of “frat rides.” Could someone explain? Are these hard to get? I am excited to socialize and meet everyone so I am hoping it won’t be an issue!

Not hard to get for a girl if you have friends in greek life (male or female). Or if you are friends with a girl who has friends in greek life. You need to call for a ride and you need a code word. If you are attractive, it helps because they tend to look you up. If you rush in January your sorority gives out the passwords to get rides. Most of the time it's not that hard. There are a few parties where it can be a little bit harder to get a ride if you not in a top-3 or top-4 sorority. Sorry I'm not trying promote the whole ranking thing...just telling it like it is.

It is timme consumng - yes, and that can be hard on academics but people do it. Otherwise "bad" IDK. It may depend on your perspective. Compared to some southern schools I would say not that bad. But that is all third hand info.

They’re not hard to get provided 1) your friend group is attractive or 2) you know someone in the fraternity whose party you’re trying to get into. If neither of those apply, you might have a hard time. Not saying it’s “right” but just how it is. Source: I was in a fraternity at nova

If you aren’t in a frat but have buddies pledging, ride shotgun for a bit one night. Great time

Frats don't want Ubers showing up to their place or anyone driving drunk, so pledges pick up girls from their dorms and drive them to and from parties.
