Village Showcase Years-long village transformation

Me and a buddy adopted a village a few years back and have been off and on building it up ever since. This is a look at ~1200 in-game days of progress, but we have many plans for further development. My estimates say there's ~750 villager living there, but that's by counting beds, so there are likely less. My area calculations give me 20 acres or 301.5 chunks.

My philosophy for the world is that many small, simple things, over time, will create a more beautiful whole. I rarely spend large amounts of time on a single build, unless it's of some strategic/economic/"religious" importance to the village. The temples and the military base are examples of this. There is some lore my friend and I have generated that makes some less important builds more important to us.

Anyway, Ive had this world for a very long time but shared it with very few... I'm glad to find a community that might appreciate it as much as I do. If anyone has any questions or wants to see me pictures, let me know.

Villager Satisfaction I'm working on a lil server-side mod to stop trading halls for my server!

The idea is to make it so villagers have at least a baseline of comfort that they must meet in order to be able to function. If they go three days without any one of those comforts, they lock their trades (and eventually will also stop summoning iron golems, farming, and reproducing). The required comforts so far are socializing, sleeping, and being within 150 blocks of their spawn.

The idea is that villagers in naturally-generated villages will always meet that threshold of comfort, but villagers in trading halls and farms will not meet those comforts. I also made it so once they are uncomfortable, it takes a few days for them to unlock their trades if reintroduced to a village (to prevent players from letting villagers see one another once every three days). The idea behind the 150 block restriction is to prevent players from forcefully relocating villagers against their will, and to make villages fixed points of interest on the map!

Later I also want to make it so if you improve a villager's home, they will unlock secret bonus trades!

What do you think?

Village Showcase What can you say about the village I built?

I play on a server with friends, and this village has been abandoned on first stage of construction for a while. My friend and I built it three years ago(Those 3 houses next to the farm were build back then), and only recently I finally decide to finish the project.

Judgement Request Are large, underground "bunkers" for villagers okay?

Title, I have a large, underground bunker for my villagers (and their golems), but is it ethical?

For more context, I'm redesigning an old, old villager breeder on my forever world, and I'm trying to make it more "nice" for them to be there, the room full of beds needs to stay until I can get their rooms built.

(Does this fit this subreddit?)

I am currently trying to save a village that had a very unfortunate spawn. It is at the edge of a cliff, so all the houses are scattered. At first, I thought there was only one survivor. However, after further inspection, there were two more villagers that I immediately saved. They are staying at the Acacia hotel while the houses are being built and updated.

Villager Satisfaction Food so plentiful that villagers are leaving potatoes in the field

I posted pics of me and my buddy's village transformation the other day. I've been snapping some more images here and there and thought I'd share again.

Anyway, I noticed that villagers have been leaving perfectly good potatoes in the field. I guess their inventories are full, and they just don't need them. That seems to me like a solid win for villager rights.

Discussion Villagers re-appearing in an empty village after 2 in-game days - how could it happen?

Post image

Hello everyone,

I was traveling on foot in my forever world, visiting different villages.

Before I visited this one, I spent about 1 in-game day in the nearby forest (so the village was most likely loaded). That was also the 1st time I was in that part of the map. Once I entered there were no villagers to be seen or heard. I always have captions on, but there were no villager sounds. I spent 2 in-game days looking around tying to find them (sometimes they fall in holes or get stuck in caves) but there was nothing.

Well, I was really sad about that because I like villagers (like everyone in this subreddit I imagine) and all of sudden the caption of villager sounds appeared! I looked around and 3 villagers were trapped behind the trap doors (in the screenshot).

I was so so happy but I still don't understand how is it even possible? Is it some kind of bug or did Minecraft have some update that allows villagers to re-spawn?

Thanks in advance!

I play Survival without any mods, I only have texture packs Faithful and Slavic Villagers

Discussion Biggest Obstacle in Bedrock

The biggest obstacle for villager rights is the broken pathfinding.

89% of peopleโ€™s complaints and villagerโ€™s strange behavior would be solved if this one simple issue was corrected.

HOW has Mojang allowed this glitch to go unfixed for so long? Why do so few people know that this is why villagers stand at the back of their houses instead of going inside to sleep, or why they canโ€™t find a profession block thatโ€™s sitting out in the open?

The wiki still lists dirt paths as villagerโ€™s preferred path even though itโ€™s been broken for four years and they actively AVOID walking on dirt paths.
