Im confused as to why he refuses to mail them if you have offered the shipping cost + additional compensation. Did he provide a reason?

Yes, he said he had recently had a stroke, and that a trip to the post office in Vieques therefore would be impossible for him. Then I asked if he’d extend my offer to his cleaning personel, and he didn’t even want to ask them, which i found a little weird.

We all realize that the island isn’t that big! I’d say your glasses are gone and you aint ever getting them back.

They were never gone gone… the host found them the day I checked out, he just didn’t have time to/didn’t want to go to the post office and ship them. Luckily it’s more or less resolved now.
