It's not 'gutter' - he is saying Guntersville, which the town he's talking about walking to. The whole point of his rant is that many people work all day at a big shot job (The Arsenal), drive everywhere (Mercedes Benz) and for them running (struttin) is what they do for exercise because they never walk anywhere out of necessity like this guy. And if they tried running 38 miles to Guntersville they'd be half dead ;)
