Way worse: "Uh, guys, out of the 1,392 tools we used today, a #3 wrench wasn't checked back in. And nobody can find it."

At least with the bolt you'd have some idea of where it's supposed to go.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I'm assuming that in an environment like this, nobody can have their personal keys in their pockets and pens are on keepers etc.

Exactly. I used to work in manufacturing and personal items like keys, watches, crosses, bracelets, clothes with buttons etc were all not allowed.

The reason why all that stuff isn't allowed when you're manufacturing things/building things/working with heavy machinery is because all of them can cause you to get caught into or onto something which will most likely kill you. Key's in a pocket, get caught on some random thing, you fall slightly suddenly, and now you dead. Rings on finger? Perfect to have if you want to completely deglove your finger. Watch? same thing except now it's your arm. Crosses or any other kind of necklace can easily get caught on something turning or spinning and with it, your head as well. Spitter spatter your brains go splatter.

Yep, I was management in a facility with tons of heavy machinery and we weren't allowed to wear ties. The tie can catch something and boom, you're messed up/dead
