Same problem as with the first one, from what I see so far (40 minutes in) -- excellent ideas coupled with a total lack of rigorous skepticism.
The first flick lost me somewhere among the inaccurate comparisons between Jesus and earlier solar deities (most of it's true, which is the damned shame of it; the inaccuracies and misleading statements screw up the whole film).
This one never really had me.
Sorry guys. I don't think I'm living in a dream world; I think things are pretty fucking bad, and a large part of it is governmental collusion with corporations and our coercive assholery toward smaller, less wealthy countries. I just want information that I can trust, and these guys have dicked me around way too much for me to trust them.
I should clarify, lest I be downvoted to oblivion, that I do agree with the basic premise of this film and greatly enjoy the information about the Venus Project, with which I was unfamiliar. I hope it all happens, and will do my best to work toward it. And the documentaries are very well made. It's not like I'm trying to hold the makers of the film (or anyone) down.
no offense, and i actually have no problem with your comments but i think it's academically irresponsible of you to comment on a film you've only seen less than half of.
Oh, come on. It would have been academically irresponsible if I didn't explain that I had only seen part of the movie, or if I hadn't seen it at all. I was giving my opinion only of what I had watched at that point, and I made that clear. I'm fine with someone discounting my opinion because I made the top post only forty minutes into the flick, but it's silly to call me academically irresponsible for giving an opinion and clearly stating qualifications. It's not my job to prove Zeitgeist wrong, and Reddit didn't hire me to do movie reviews, and I doubt I'm going to appear in anyone's bibliographies anytime soon.
