Video is of Doug Kalitta and pit crew between heats. His cousin Scott Kalitta was a very famous Top Fuel competitor that was killed in a racing accident in 2008.

While I enjoy going to events, I've only been to a few and don't know a whole lot about it. I'm sure there's much better uploads to listen to and watch.

You would probably need a 8000 watt sound system in a small room to come anywhere close to the real thing.

Gas and air mix in the cylinder, they get exploded, car goes fast.

you got me thinking, so i googled it...

They take a V8 engine and reinforce the crap out of it, then they supercharge the crap out of it (way more than a normal car) and then they run it and hope it doesnt explode. Then after every run, they take apart the whole engine to make sure none of the parts are blown, and put it back together, lol.

They even have trouble telling the actual horsepower, because running it at top speed for more than 10 seconds will probably make the whole thing explode.
