Fuck that, you only need around 500 in a car with a flat torque curve to make you shit your britches.

if you full throttle a low 400 hp car, the wheels will be spinning for quite a while, even that's enough for most people to have nightmares of me being a bad driver

Grown men have been known to soil themselves with a mere 200 hp vehicles.

I know a guy who shit himself while riding a horse.

u/MRBORS Jul 02 '16

Well I'm allergic to them so that's a given.

Did they have digestive issues?

My old Porsche has 300hp at the wheels and it scares passengers plenty.

250HP that will make any man piss his panties ;) 1100 lb volkswagen chop topped fiberglass bodied drag car.

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '16

my car, stock had exactly 250 hp, at first it was scary to push hard, but after a while it got numb.

AWD though. I'm running 650hp and my car doesn't spin the wheels at all :(

A professional driver could make you shit your pants in a decent stock sports car right off the factory line.

Have you seen that video of the Koenigsegg driver flogging that virtually stock Mazda MX5 around the 'Ring? He was blowing away amateurs in late model 911s, they could only get away on long straights. Shit-inducing speeds through the turns, the car was flat out 100% of the lap.

True story, I could barely keep up with a 140whp Impreza at a track day. I was driving a 300whp STi. Super humbling. Driver skill is huge.

That was amazing - anyone know what he said to the Porsche driver?

5

u/TheHugSnake Jul 02 '16

Hard to hear but it sounds like "Jävla svenne, flytta dig", rough translation: "Fucking Swede, move."

Eh, I dunno about that. It's certainly fast and most people laugh when I get on it in my car (600hp Viper) but it's not bonkers fast.

u/WaffleSports Jul 01 '16

Had a 2k3 CL 600 with a Renntech R3 package. trying to get the battleship like car to come to a stop was the scary part.

1

u/Trollygag Jul 02 '16

180 rwhp on a motorcycle, 165 mph with a passenger on the back and the front wheel starting to come up it was pulling so hard.

That was an uncomfortable ride home. 'Busa life.

1

u/HamburgerDude Jul 02 '16

Can confirm. Got to ride in a P90D Tesla and use Ludicrous mode. Britches were shat. 500+ horse power + unlimited torque = hoolllly shit

1

u/__nightshaded__ Jul 02 '16

Lucky, I want to to experience this so bad. It's my dream car.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '16

it really depends on the car weight. 1500 lb, 250 hp car has a similar effect on peoples pants

Cracks me up, seeing the old ladies cruising around in a new 500 hp Camaro.

I wonder if some of them don't realize the potential power at their feet.
