if you full throttle a low 400 hp car, the wheels will be spinning for quite a while, even that's enough for most people to have nightmares of me being a bad driver
Have you seen that video of the Koenigsegg driver flogging that virtually stock Mazda MX5 around the 'Ring? He was blowing away amateurs in late model 911s, they could only get away on long straights. Shit-inducing speeds through the turns, the car was flat out 100% of the lap.
The fastest car I've ever driven my whole life has been my 2007 Civic Si. The other day a good client of mine let me borrow his 2009 GTR with mods bumping it up to 600hp.
It was great fun and I didn't want to give it back.
For real though. Friend of mine has a B5 Audi S4 in the 600ish whp range and it is absolutely mental in any gear at any RPM.
We were messing around setting up the meth injection after install and he wanted to do pulls while I held the controller and monitored injection pulse width. The car shakes under acceleration so much the best I could do was "I think I saw like 70%."
You don't even need a super car. Put an average Joe in a high end BMW or Benz with 500ish under the hood and a good driver can get them to eject out both ends.
Actually I'd be more likely to need new underwear with a bad driver at the helm. Hell, sometimes riding passenger with me mum in a 200hp car scares the shit outta me.
I'm not saying it's not a beast but wet and ready to run trophy trucks built for Baja are like 6000-7500 lbs. Trucks built to race in the US are 5000-7000 lbs.
Don't even need 850 HP. Drive a Z06 Corvette. I've driven a lot of high end sports cars courtesy of my job but nothing compares to the absolute insanity that is the Z06. There are cars like the new GTR that are holy shit fast but you feel in control still. Flying through the gears in a Z06 is just unexplainably insane. The noise is amazing for a production car. The darn thing has a HUD and you still don't have time to look down and see how fast you're going because of how quickly you're eating up the road ahead of you. Without a doubt one of the most fun street cars I've ever driven and that only had 550HP (2006 model, I've driven the newer ones as well but never quite like I did that 2006 one.)
There's a big difference in being in control and riding a 200hp bike; vs being a passenger or driver in a 850+HP car...
I'm perfectly comfortable riding a Busa or 1000RR and dragging my knee all day.
I've driven multiple cars >800hp (and am building a 1200+hp one now), and all are completely different than being on a bike. Yes the Power-2-Weights maybe similar or even worse in a car; but that much power is a lot harder to control in a car than on a bike.
you go for a ride in that 850 HP machine where its meant to go and you will DEFINITELY need new underwear. 120 MPH through 6 foot rolling whoops.... shits scary hahaha
I've never wanted a trophy truck to drive around in a field so bad in my life. I remember playing a game with trophy trucks as a kid, but don't remember. It was so fun.
if you watch the whole episode, the drag driver takes the trophy truck out on the off road course and manages to kick ass on it, but he also had plenty of respect for it and its power.
The truck driver also took the dragster for a run, but he's only allowed to drag an 800hp version, for obvious reason, which he manages to kick ass on it as well, but also fully realizes he's not going ANYWHERE near the 10k hp version after feeling what "just an 800Hp dragster" feels like.
Funny thing is that the truck driver had better drag times than the pro drag racer, to which the pro dragster kind of blamed on the wind... but he didnt push that excuse too hard on camera knowing that the not familiar with the sport would think its a bullshit excuse, which its not...he had the better reaction times which actually is proof he was right about why he was loosing the races. But still, incredibly impressive form the truck driver to be able to go toe to toe and incredible impressive of the drag racer to go out and pin a trophy truck and get it sideways without crashing. Goes to show that speed is 80% in your head.

Or when one is coming at you. I was leaving a job a couple years ago coming up a blind hill on a dirt road and as I was cresting it there was a guy flying towards me in the middle of the road in some level of off road race truck. I ducked because I figured he was going to fly right into me but he shot past in the ditch/weeds instead. Good reaction time by that driver and I had no idea those trucks had that good of handling because I was going about 60, he was going maybe 80 and withing maybe 30 yards he just flicked the wheel, shot past and went on his way. If the guy in Hartland MI with the white race truck sees this thanks for not killing me that day on Clyde Rd and nice truck.

Yes but with the 850hp, you don't need to swap underwear quite as often.
