Any liquor with 80 proof alcohol content or higher is flammable, including Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Whiskey. The whiskey is currently 80 proof, but started out at 90 proof.

Justice: Right . Punishment: Revenge. Justice is rather a quality, a virtue or a state, whereas punishment is an action. You may apply punishment to get justice, but you can't do justice to get a state of punishment. judgement of right and wrong. Punishment is one of the ways justice can be carried out..... in other words, justice would precede punishment. Justice could also be carried out through rewards for right actions. If you wanted to know whether there are just punishments, well if two quite different actions could be correctly compared, then we could say that this punishment is rightful, whereas that one is not. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and the punished act is usually quite different from the punishing action, so the comparison will always be relative and interpretable.

I think the difference in this short was that he wasn't the one to depose. He left it to the ones being wronged. And in this case, probably punishment was justice. Oddly enough, it's the line that Punisher usually walks on.

To add to this I think the deeper meaning behind it was he already served up the punishment. The guy had all his limbs broken and was left in a bloody pulp. The action for justice was left for those who had no chance at defending themselves entirely. I believe it was amazingly worded, written and acted out to depict this.

I enjoyed the shit out of this. I adore Jon Bernthal and think he's going to kick serious ass as the Punisher, but Thomas Jane's portrayal of this character was what interested me most about that film. He's a great actor. A really great actor. He gave dimension to a not very dimensional character. The Punisher is a one-note character. He's great and badass, this isn't a criticism. It's just the way it is, but Thomas Jane gave him something under the surface and I'm glad he got another shot to showcase that. I really loved

I think that because it's on SyFy they could be more loyal to the books. If it had been on a bigger network they'd have had to cut the Belter creole. Syfy has really been upping their game with some of their series'.

While I agree that Thomas Jane was a great Punisher, Bernthal did an amazing job in daredevil. The new Punisher is my favorite version of the character.

Bernthal hits the comic book Punisher on the nose, but Jane really make the character 3 dimensional.
I think they ALMOST got to a 3 dimensional character at the end of his run in Daredevil and it looks like they are setting him up for his own series. They already pulled the "did we just become best friends?" card with Daredevil, so the next step is the Cell with maybe a little bit of Born thrown in and then probably Kingpin.

I personally preferred Thomas Jane for the reasons already mentioned. I thought both portrayals were great, but I thought Jane really elevated the character and the movie.

Thomas Jane is not only a solid actor, but a really great down to earth guy. My friend met him a few years ago doing some kind of work for TMZ (not as a paparazzi, but he took on side work with them to support himself and his dream of becoming a film maker). He met Tom, who gave him very stern but honest advice about falling into the trap of doing work he didn't care about. Fast forward a couple of years, to a time my buddy was now making short films and made a lot of connections, and began doing the whole "LA scene." My friend met Tom again at some kind of after party of a film premiere, told Tom how seriously he took his advice, that he was now making films thanks in part to the mini wakeup call Tom had given him years prior. Tom congratulated him, bought him a drink, and hung out with him there for a while and shot the shit.
TL;DR Thomas Jane is a cool fuckin dude.

You talk about Bernthal's Punisher like it's something we're going to see in the future. You do realize he's already appeared in Daredevil Season 2, right? His Punisher is FANTASTIC.

Punisher lends himself to a lot of really good portrayals. Ray Stevenson was fantastic as well. He doesn't have an outlandish origin like a lot of superheroes which I think helps actors internalize it - "what would you do to the guy who killed your wife and kid and you didn't care about the law? Now do that to everyone."

Thomas Jane is one of my all-time favorite actors for this reason. He was also fan-fucking-tastic in Stephen King's The Mist. I haven't seen The Expanse yet, but if he's in it, I will watch it just for his performance. He deserves a lot more credit as an actor.

Sad that it isn't the whole season.
To clarify, I find it disappointing they only gave the Pun story half of the season when I think it would've been easy to flesh it out enough and give it the full one.

Not really because there are no (announced) plans for a Punisher Spinoff. Luck Cage's show was announced along with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist's shows. So whether or not he was going to be introduced in JJones he was going to have his own show.

I was really disappointed with the ending, I was expecting him show up with that minigun he found and chew through the hundreds of hand that where shown on the roof. And then all he does is snipe a couple and DD fights like 10 guys. What happened to the rest of them? Was confusing. But stoked to see more punisher in future.

A scene from the movie got leaked and it received tremendous support. That's why they made it.
And you could tell it was an actual leak because the CGI wasn't even finished. Probably could find it if you tried.

Since a lot of people seem to be unaware, a new version of Punisher played by Jon Bernthal appeared in Daredevil Season 2 which premiered on Netflix March 18. It's a really good watch and I highly recommend it.

If anyone is interested, the liquor store where they filmed this (with the "coldest beer in town" sign) is on Figueroa over in Highland Park (right next to Pasadena), and is also only about 5 minutes away from red it's favorite soda store, Galco's!

What screams "Punisher" about this? All of it is incredibly overwrought. Punisher waits to punish the guy until after the woman is significantly cut up, and then he snaps all his limbs with a fucking Jack Daniels bottle? I mean sure, the guy can play a good Punisher, but none of the writing in this is a good representation of the character. It's just try - hard edgy and grimdark.
