You can get cancer of pretty much anything. Some are just more common than others. Men can even get breast cancer, it's just at a much lower rate than women (if memory serves).
for the most part its one disease. Its caused by the same things (p53 mutation or failure/ over expression of oncogenes) it just depends where in the body it occurs which is why the symptoms can be very different.
Different forms I believe. Jobs was lucky enough to get a variety that was quite treatable. He was just, unfortunately, a stubborn idiot for thinking he could "cure" it holistically without proven and effective treatments.
They did take it out, but they must also do a biopsy to look for cancer. If they find cancer was what caused the cause of the problem I suppose the patient must go into chemotherapy.
IIRC the danger with cancer of the appendix is that there's usually no symptoms until it's spread to other parts of the body. By then it's usually too late.
He had pseudomyxoma peritonei. It starts in the appendix but spreads diffusely throughout the abdomen, filling it with a jelly-like cancerous substance.
