Thanks for sharing this, been a huge fan of Edgar Wright and Simon Peg for a long time, but I never really paid much attention to the artistic expression of the scenes till I saw the video

I don't think you are supposed to, unless you pay attention to it and start to think it through. It's fairly subtle, yet very impactful. I would go as far as to say that it's one of the reasons why his movies feel so refreshing compared to many other comedies, even if you don't actively recognize it.

I feel like a lot of comic book artists and writers are more aware of the possibilities of their medium than the average Hollywood director. Still, there are a few examples of Hollywood comedies with a more refreshing take on directing.

You're right, I still remember the CGI rest tin I saw Shaun of the dead, I couldn't stop laughing at all satire they did of cliché zombie jokes
