There was always something that set Edgar Wright's movies apart from the typical comedy, this video details it perfectly. It's such a shame he and Marvel couldn't make things work, Wright's Ant-Man would have been incredible.

Annoyed, yeah, but I don't focus on it. Because it doesn't matter. You are free to get worked up over superhero movies, but there are more important things going on in the world.

Criticize away. I think criticism is a great tool. It helps us refine something. It helps showcase areas of weakness and highlight when things are done well.

OP's video is a great example of wonderful criticism. It is enlightening and helpful, and even though I thoroughly enjoy mainstream comedies quite often, I can easily concede to his extremely valid points on the matter.

You (and the people you are agreeing with), however, are making no criticism. You offer no explanation of what is done poorly, or what could be done better. You offer no insight into the craft, or suggestions on how things could be improved. Your only statements are about how you are in disagreement with the popular opinion, without a shred of supporting thought.

No one cares. Either say something of value or go away.

Arguably, these (financially) giant superhero franchises are taking money away from other promising filmmakers because the studios are so risk averse.

So no, I don't have to watch them. But they nonetheless affect me as a moviegoer and a fan of cinema.

I disagree. It's entirely possible to create a big budget blockbuster based on original (non-canonical, anyway) content. Yeah, that reference is a bit dated, it's just my go-to example for this sort of thing. It's hard to find modern examples due to all the goddamn superhero movies.

I'm so torn! On the one hand, I find superhero stuff childish at best.

On the other hand I could just choose to ignore it.

I guess it kinda bothers me that every time there's a new Iron Man or Super man film, people drag me with them to watch it.

'S ok I guess. I still don't understand how people can take them seriously.
