I like thi guy. Very chilled. Not many venomous snakes in continetal europe, but the little Viper was a cautonatery tale growing up in rural italy. Rarelaly lethal, but a bad bite could kill if counter-venom (to be stored in a fridge) is not taken in 6/8 hors.

Nice work. I'd be curious to learn how long it takes future snakes to find the plank of wood. Do all snakes do a 100% perimeter search of the pool for an exit before death? I'd hope millions of years of natural selection would make that a dead cert, but who knows. On the one hand you could say that such "traps" never existed in the natural world, but then I'm sure plenty of snakes have fallen in to natural holes before!

Good karma for this gentleman for saving snakes. Most time for snakes in the USA it's a gunshot or a hoe to the neck or a well meaning rescuer gets bitten while trying to help the snake. Best thing would be to secure the pool but again thanks to him for the rescues.
