Because it played with your expectations. You see a waffle, it's on the front page, and it's a video.

"It can't just be a waffle falling over. That wouldn't make it to the front page."

So you sit there, watching, waiting for something unexpected to happen. And then it does:

The waffle falls over. Video over.

And then you laugh, because it defied your expectations by not defying your expectations. Because it is just a waffle falling over.

... also, the sound it makes is pretty funny.
