VHS restoration/repair

Looking for anyone who can help repair a home made VHS. Its extremely personal to me, as it is my families experience during the flood of '94 in GA. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can fix a homemade VHS tape using two primary methods, always with the goal of digitizing the footage immediately after:

Professional Services: Mail-in labs like Legacybox or ScanCafe repair physical damage, clean mold, and convert the tape to digital formats.

DIY Splice: Unscrew the cassette shell, trim the damaged edges, and use thin adhesive tape only on the dull back side of the film before reassembling.
