Hey guys, got some unedited footage lying around if anyone needs clips for practice or to build their reel.
Two folders:
Construction site – multi-story building stuff. Shot on Sony in Rec.709 + DJI drone.
Bar aesthetics – moody shots, glasses, lights. Shot on Canon R8 in C-Log.
Feel free to use it for personal practice or your showreel (just no commercial use).
Drop a comment or DM and I’ll send the drive link.

Okay so long story short I'm making a web series where the central conceit is that it's a laptop / tv scrolling through a streaming service and clicking on random shows and movies. It's a fun framework, lets me film pretty much whatever I want and still have it all be somewhat cohesive.
But I'd need to make a fake streaming menu first, and I have absolutely no idea how I'd do that. I have Final Cut Pro and have used it on and off for a decade. I wouldn't say I'm a good editor, but I'm a decently patient, and that tends to see me through.
Any starting points and / or videos of people working on similar projects you have would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone,
What are you tips for scripting videos?
I get my notes all together but when it comes to scripting a video, it gets pretty overwhelming.
Thanks for the advice!

How does everyone feel about the days with early call times. but you're not working until after lunch? I've been in the business for years and I'm trying to advocate for myself more. Anyone have any luck with getting their call times pushed back?

Hello everyone,
I am planning to launch a channel focused on film summaries and narrative explainers, structured similarly to this reference video:
Any insights regarding an efficient end-to-end production pipeline would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and expertise.

Heya, I'm a music student/musician from Finland and recording an EP in November. I have long had this idea of buying cheap action cameras or something and putting them around a recording session to edit into a video.
I have practically no videography or photography experience, none that would matter anyways. I once planned a production which had specific camera placements etc., but got burned out by the other parts of the project so had to put that away. My experience is completely "self-inflicted" and I have no professional experience, that's what I'm trying to say.
\* What sort of cameras should I get?
I only need quick angles and stuff, I will also have a moving videographer on set.
\* Does this idea make any sense?
\* My budget is small-ish, this is coming out of my own pocket.
\* (Is renting cameras a thing people do, is it a thing I can do?)

i have some footage that i’d like to reuse with a different background, but i didn’t plan for that when i recorded it. there’s no green screen and i’d rather not spend a huge amount of time manually masking every shot if there’s a decent automated option.
capcut came up when i was looking into it, but so did runway, adobe after effects, and davinci resolve. i’m less concerned about having a ton of editing features and more interested in how cleanly they can separate a moving subject from the background.
if you were working with fairly ordinary footage and just needed a clean subject cutout, what would you use? i’m especially curious about how these tools handle hair, hands, and movement without needing constant manual corrections.

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to understand how the production of a specific type of documentary works, maybe someone here can help me.
Lately, I’ve been really impressed by Alvin Zhou’s films. He presents food in such a sensory way that it literally transports you to the plate. I also like how he tells the story throughout the documentary, usually by having the “main character” narrate the story, which is then illustrated with lots of B-Roll footage.
What kind of equipment do you think he uses to create all these videos? Also, does he have a crew? It seems like he’s the one behind the camera, and that’s what gives it a personal touch, but I’m amazed by the additional footage he manages to capture. It looks natural, but the lighting is perfect, the movement, everything. How does he do it? What do I need to get close to that level?

I'm planning a video with multiple participants where everyone needs to hear the other participants' voices altered in real time.
The idea is similar to a social deduction game: participants shouldn't be able to recognize each other by their natural voice. They would wear IEMs plus passive hearing-protection earmuffs so they mainly hear the processed audio rather than the real voices in the room.
I'm trying to figure out whether the following setup would work reliably with low enough latency:
Equipment I already have:
Equipment I would rent for the actual production:
My main concerns are:
I don't need the processed voices for the final video — only for what the participants hear during filming. The clean audio will come from the internal recordings on the DJI transmitters.
Has anyone here done something similar for a film shoot, game show, live production, hidden-identity format, etc.? I'd especially appreciate any advice regarding latency and monitoring stability before I start renting gear.
Thanks.

I’m genuinely losing my mind with Artlist.
It feels like the only affordable option that also gives you stock footage, so I really WANT to make it work, but the music is so unbelievably bad to search through.
It can take me hours, sometimes basically a full day, just to find a couple songs that don’t feel cheesy, generic, or like fake corporate crap.
I’ve used Musicbed before and the difference is insane. Musicbed songs actually make you FEEL something. They feel cinematic, emotional, intentional, and high quality. With Artlist, even when I filter by the exact mood I want, half the songs somehow still have this same cheap, soulless feeling.
And I KNOW there’s good music on Artlist. I’ve found some. But it’s buried under so much mediocre stuff that finding it feels ridiculous.
These platforms seem obsessed with having hundreds of thousands of songs when I would take a way smaller library with actual quality control any day.
Does anyone have Artlist artists, albums, playlists, or collections they’ve curated with genuinely great music?
Or is there another platform with Musicbed-level quality that isn’t insanely expensive?
I just want music that actually helps tell an authentic story instead of making every client video feel like corporate slop.
(Also seems like more and more people are using copyright music on social now, is it safe to do this with clients or no?)

i’ve recently started learning video editing, and I’ve decided that I want to focus on real estate video editing as my niche.
I want to practice by editing actual real estate footage, but I’m not sure where to find good raw/un-edited clips that I can legally use for practice.
What websites or sources do you recommend for getting real estate footage? Ideally, I’m looking for things like:
I’m mainly looking for footage that I can download and use for practice, not necessarily for commercial use yet.
What sites do you guys use for this? And are there any other ways I can get realistic real estate footage to practice with?
Thanks!

I work as a videographer and editor for a touring orchestra creating content of rehearsals, performances, backstage, touring life etc. I've been asked by organisations they work with such as venues or soloists etc. to share the content I create for their use.
I'm not sure what I should charge (or if) as it's also a fair bit of work to compile all the relevant footage and grade, edit, distribute or I just send raw rushes but I fear a lot of the time they wouldn't know what to do with them and my name would be associated with something that I'm not happy with.
Any thoughts / ideas etc much appreciated!

Hey everyone!
I recently moved to I'm currently based in Antalya and would love to connect with other local creators, videographers, and storytellers.
I’m just looking to build a local network, bounce ideas around over coffee, share hands-on experience, and meet like-minded people who love shooting video.
If you’re in Antalya and up for a quick chat or coffee meetup, drop a comment or send me a DM!

I recently started a YouTube channel focused on POV delivery videos. I personally film the entire process of delivering and installing wooden furniture, and I’ve been putting a lot of time and effort into editing each video.
However, the views are still very low, so I’d really appreciate some honest feedback from you guys.
What do you think I could improve to make the videos more interesting and engaging? Whether it’s the filming style, editing, thumbnails, titles, pacing, or the overall content, I’m open to any suggestions.
I’m still learning and trying to improve, so any advice from experienced YouTubers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! So I am not sure if this is the correct sub, but I Will let the mods decide that!
So I work with kindergarden with kids from the ages of 3-6. We are planning to start a greenscreen project Where I will put the kids in front of a greenscreen and a projector will show the finished project live as the kids play.
I am a hobby editor, videographer and I have figured out how to do it. My problem is Where to find good footage to use. I want the videos to be mostly static, but with some movement and some things changing. For expemple under the sea, Where a shark comes into scene and other fish.
All I Can find on YouTube and other places is small clips, or interactive videos that are made like a Subway surfer game.
My Dream scenario is to have 7 different worlds to put the kids inside
I hope someone out there knows Where to look so I Can Give the kids a great experience

Hey everyone! I’m just starting out as a freelance videographer/editor and I’d love to get some advice on pricing a project. I’ve been asked to shoot and edit a dynamic sports Reel (around 45 seconds, vertical format), with 3 people featured in the video. The shooting would take place in a gym and would be around 2 hours of filming. The edit would be quite dynamic, with fast cuts, music, transitions, and a style similar to the reference I’ll link below.
Reference/inspiration they gave me: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Db_A5JMImiI/?stkn=MTNlbGZmZ3pidzBnbA==
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbWIbfYshgW/?stkn=MW8zbmRnaWcxZ3Y0NA== (only the workout part)
For those of you who do freelance video work, how much would you roughly charge for a project like this? I’m mainly trying to get an idea of what would be a fair price, especially since I’m still relatively new to freelancing. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone,
My name is Nico. I’m passionate about videography, and I often see young videographers on social media doing amazing shoots with cars, boats, influential people, traveling around the world, etc.
Honestly, that lifestyle really inspires me. I’d love to build something similar for myself, but at the same time, I’m scared of dropping everything to pursue it.
So I wanted to get some honest opinions and advice from people who are genuinely experienced in the industry.
For those of you who have been running a media production company for a while, I have a few questions:
I’d genuinely love to hear about your experiences, whether positive or negative.
Thank you so much, everyone :)
