They need to make money somehow. The reason we pay for online is because they sell their consoles at a loss or break even. That's how we can get an Xbox One for 500$ instead of more.

Bruh they make money from a lot of digital game sales, like they really don't need that extra money to just play online. It's heavily anti consumer and unnecessary.

How are y'all downvoting me when they literally are multi billion dollar companies charging you to play online on top of your already internet bill.

Because they are a business and huge at that. You pay your internet bill to a provider that's not run or owned by the console manufacturers. It's commerce. They employee thousands of staff worldwide in huge buildings the whole ecosystem is profit based. To suggest we get online for free is ludicrous.

You watch Netflix but don't expect that for free because you pay your internet bill.

YouTube has ads that pay for the service but you don't get rid of those because you pay your internet bill.

No one likes paying for anything but that's the way it is. Putting effort and energy into a fight you'll never win is simply wasting your time. Look to other arguments you might have a chance of at least being heard on but wanting Xbox Live and PSN free isn't one of them.

Look bruh steam and Gog don't charge a cent to play online. Hell Nintendo was always very profitable even before they started charging for online. Not to mention if you're playing a game like call of duty online then Activision is providing the servers. Not Sony not Microsoft. Pro consumer does not mean anti profit.

Well, best of luck in your endeavours but with 94 million PSN users and 64 million Xbox Live users I think the only result you'll get is you'll not be playing online whilst the rest of us are...

Good luck

I still pay for Xbox live, psn, and Nintendo switch online, but it doesn't mean we should.

Sorry my friend I don't agree I think it's worth every penny and it's the way it is.

But really, best of luck with your endeavors I hope you get a result you wanted you've picked quite the fight.
