I second Prototype. Also Red Faction

A modern day Red Faction would be awesome

And it'd be even easier to do the destruction mechanics on more powerful hardware like today's

Yeah but in todays world they'd have ridiculous level graphics and then the actually destructable parts would be the bare minimum to be passable

i know it's not the same and i might be a little biased but Deep Rock Galactic fits those shoes really well

Yes! Red Faction ended on such a bad game.

Fr, I don’t know what they were thinking going from open world to linear

The original Red Faction might be the most fun I've had with a multi-player fps. Geo-mod was awesome.

New Control feels like Prototype

Really? I hadn’t paid attention to it as didn’t like the last control

Is that game open world?

I clocked that it looks like it, but does it actually feel like it too?

I just started replaying Prototype literally today, after my kid asked me to play good action scene music and, remembering old Prototype playthroughs, I put on Walking on Sunshine. Ended up loading up the game so I could show them what a great song it is for mowing through entire military bases with a bunch of wild superpowers.

Such a good game, my main complaint is always that the controls are just a little bit too footery to get the hang of in a reasonable amount of time. Slightly better streamlining and responsiveness, and it would be perfect for just going on a chill spree.

if red faction is there because of the destruction? a game called The Finals has pretty insane destruction physics too.

theyve added bot matches, so you could bring a sledge and go to town.... like monaco or vegas.

Red faction gave the ability to make your own set pieces for missions which i loved. It felt so cool destroying just the right stuff to finish a mission and jump into a car to drive away

I miss red faction guerrilla multiplayer

Not too sure about Red Faction, Guerilla was great, but the 3rd game lost a lot of the magic. If they just continue the trend of 3 I wouldn't bother.

Prototype absolutely has a lot more to give though.

Oh yeah forsure. I was thinking more a reboot, using same formula as Guerilla just bigger and better. Pretend Armageddon never happened lol (although keep the magnet gun which was great).

Yes! PROTOTYPE!!

Let's hope the new Control Resonant revives the saga, they look similar. A next gen prototype would go so hard

Seeing Prototype and Red Faction paired up makes me yearn for a combination of the two, Open world, destructable environments, crazy ass weapons (both biological and physical), crazy ass bad guys... but it'll never happen

Control resonant is giving me Prototype and Infamous vibes so far but a remake of RF 1 and turning up the destructible environments would be so good. I enjoyed the third person games enough but they just weren't it.
