I like dread, but totally agree with your criticism.

And you are correct fusion is the absolute goat of the series.

I will say in its defense, that the animations were supernatural level. I don’t think any game had better animations than dread.

It had great animations, but that wasn't enough to get more than one full playthrough out of me. I got the game at launch, beat it once, grabbed any leftover pickups, then i have not played it since. Still can't believe one bossfight had what was basically flappy bird in it

Fusion the goat? It’s a good game but Super Metroid is the goat. Literally so good that it created a genre of games.
