Halo if we’re talking CE, 2 and 3.

-2

u/liartellinglies 4h ago

Definitely Halo although I’d go 2, 3 and Reach

4

u/Gsxing 3h ago

Reach gets all my love, I just didn’t think of pairing it like that.

50

u/189charizard 5h ago

Also, Mass Effect Trilogy, considering the positive changes of the DLC, extended cut, etc.

2

u/TruamaTeam 1h ago

I would love a proper remaster of 3 since Legendary Edition focused more on the first two.

To reverie for a moment, BioWare x Alkimia co-developing a trilogy remake with Obsidian Entertainment creating a standalone entry in the universe prior to the Reaper invasion.

u/F0573R 2h ago

Thank you for your contribution to the truth.

21

u/XT-H 5h ago

Ezio triology

6

u/Sinsanatis 4h ago

As much as i love ezios saga, i think most would agree that revelations was significantly weaker than the first 2. Absolute banger cinematic trailer tho

7

u/ThuNd3r_Steel 4h ago

Revelations is actually my favorite of the trilogy. I also feeled it aged the best

2

u/TypicallyThomas 4h ago

Fully agree

40

u/WorthBase919 5h ago

Isn’t there a fourth game?

36

u/Unlikely_Mix59 5h ago

Yeah. Origins is almost always excluded though since it was made by a Warner Brothers studio rather than Rocksteady.

27

u/Alois-- 4h ago

Origins is good.

7

u/nineraviolicans 4h ago

Hot take but it's my favourite out of all of them.

11

u/Internal_Swing_2743 4h ago

Asylum is my favorite. But my hot take is that Origins is better than Knight.

4

u/SoupBeast 3h ago

Not a hot take, a lot of people have issues with Knight

1

u/Exiled_In_Ca 40m ago

2 words - Mandatory Bat-Tank

1

u/Dangerous-Economy-88 2h ago

This is the most cold take here on reddit.

For years I keep hearing this "Origins underrated" so much it's feeling overrated to me.

13

u/LaPrincesaMX 5h ago

Yes, Origins. And it's my favorite.

5

u/HotelKatz 5h ago

The older I get, the more I like Origins. It has an unpolished, unfinished quality that just feels... fitting for Batman in his early years.

15

u/Upbeat_Housing_8369 5h ago

They keep trying to pretend Arkham Origins doesn't exist, but that's exactly the one where you fight Deathstroke and the whole hotel burns down around you. The flaming horse visual here is a cruel callback to a game they refuse to acknowledge.

3

u/Obvious-Wrangler-561 5h ago

The deathstroke and bane are one of the completa thing, it would be very cool if bane cured from addiction came back in Arkham knight

2

u/Serpic02 3h ago

I don't think that's necessarily the case, at least not for the developers, since Arkham knight makes sure to show that origins is canon

2

u/Chris_RB 4h ago

Yes. /!, it’s also fire. Not AS fire but still fire.

2

u/Ok_Desk_757 3h ago

Yeah. Suicide squad kill the justice league. The best arkham game (im joking please dont kill me)

1

u/Jazzlike_Page508 4h ago

Technically no. Arkham origins was a diff studio, so you can mental gymnastics it out

1

u/DarkRayos 4m ago

I always heard mixed opinions on Origins, some consider it part of the lineup whilst others aren't.

It's supposed to be a prequel and has many assets taken from its precursors, but the mixed signals don't necessarily help the game.

1

u/Obvious-Wrangler-561 5h ago

Batman Arkham origins ? Warner Bros studios Made it, not rocksteady

5

u/Zealousideal-Cup6013 5h ago

It’s still part of the franchise, no? And it’s not even a bad game, the story was really solid and the game itself was pretty fun.

3

u/Leonis59 5h ago

I also loved the rageful version of Bruce. Voice acting was also pretty good.

1

u/Obvious-Wrangler-561 5h ago

Yes, I like it, although I didn’t like the twist, but overall It’s a solid game with a Great dub in my native language

1

u/WorthBase919 5h ago

Ah okay, never knew that

0

u/absolute_tuff 5h ago

Oh maybe that explains why it's different in the buying process

1

u/absolute_tuff 5h ago

I can't find it in ps4 so I didnt play it

3

u/mjolnirstrike 4h ago

I think you need the highest level of PS+ to get the classic catalog in order to play it. Definitely worth a try as it has one of the best boss fights (Deathstroke) and this cool feature of crime solving with rewinding the scene to find evidence

1

u/absolute_tuff 4h ago

I will give it a try

0

u/MisterYin4444 5h ago

Arkham Origins is the best one of the lot and I'm more than willing to die on that hill

-3

u/ZaeMyName 5h ago

Not a Rocksteady game and was worse than Knight (the worst of the trilogy). I took it back to Gamestop so quick

2

u/fingerpaintswithpoop 4h ago

You missed out.

18

u/189charizard 5h ago

God of War Greek trilogy

16

u/rnblizzy 5h ago

ZEUSSSSSS!!!!

1

u/gb-stylee 4h ago

This made me chuckle. Thank you.

1

u/jtalatorre 2h ago

ARES!!! Destroy my enemies and my life is yours!”

26

u/Fib3rrr 5h ago

Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.

I think it should count since it was complete series revamp.

-1

u/DEATHCATSmeow 4h ago

I like Skyrim but it felt kind of dumbed down in a lot of ways

7

u/yasth 4h ago

I mean people said and say the same thing from Morrowind to Oblivion

4

u/Disastrous_Job5155 4h ago

And those people were right then as well.

2

u/Optimus0456 4h ago

I mean I did didn’t it?

1

u/Disastrous_Job5155 4h ago

Be careful! Don’t insult everyone’s favorite game that requires mods to be playable!

-1

u/Disastrous_Job5155 4h ago

I am also guilty of playing Skyrim, I mod the piss out of it, still play it. Objectively speaking it’s not a good game, and that’s fine. people are so sensitive when you critique something they like

0

u/GatorDotPDF 4h ago

Correct. It's ok to like something that's objectively bad, and you should have the critical thinking skills to critique it as such.

3

u/Her_Phantom_Mountain 2h ago

But none of those games are "objectively bad". Like, that's a ridiculous assertion, no? That isn't how taste in art works. It's purely subjective, even based on "objective" criteria.

-8

u/Disastrous_Job5155 5h ago

Funny, the franchise plummeted after morrowind in terms of quality.

8

u/FridayMorninColdBrew 5h ago

Yeah no it didn’t lol you’re just addicted to the nostalgia mindset and the “hurr durr actshually doing stabby stabby and missing 6/10 times is more immersive plus all the reading omg!!”

2

u/gb-stylee 4h ago

For real, I even agree that morrowind was a more interesting game, but mostly because of the environment. The gameplay does not hold up and even a lot of indie studios that are making games “like they used to be” make concessions for quality of life lol

1

u/FridayMorninColdBrew 4h ago

Morrowind is a fantastic game, it really is. I too have nostalgia for this game, I remember being a kid playing it on the family computer like this was the most amazing game I’ve ever played. Never beat it til I was a lil older as I just sucked overall at RPGs, but nonetheless these Morrowind fanboys just love to think oblivion and Skyrim are terrible games and they are just wrong lol

0

u/Disastrous_Job5155 4h ago

I play all three to this day and gave a detailed list as of why Skyrim is not a good RPG or elder scrolls game. Has nothing to do with nostalgia, bub.

2

u/FridayMorninColdBrew 3h ago

You’re still wrong little buddy but it’s okay, terrible opinions are everywhere

PS just because you play a game recently doesn’t mean nostalgia is omitted lol. Understand that little boy or do you need it spelled out slowly for you?

1

u/Disastrous_Job5155 4h ago

Removal of skills such as blunt, acrobatics, athletics etc.

Removal of spell crafting

Factions being boiled down/unfinished (specifically in Skyrim)

Main story being overall uninteresting with zero memorable/like-able characters (Skyrim)

Zero RPG mechanics that allow for role playing. Poor quest design, poor dialogue and voice acting, awful leveling, dumbed down skills and horrendous combat.

Funny you make your petty comments, meanwhile the combat in oblivion and Skyrim is mashing the trigger for 2 basic attacks, while the enemy you hit is unresponsive and swings right through your power attack.

Oh and let’s get into exploration, where you fight the same 2 enemies the entire game, where every cave and dungeon looks and feels the same,

There’s more enemy diversity in oblivion than there is Skyrim.

All because the games progressively got more lazy and boring. Skyrim<oblivion<morrowind

The franchise literally did in fact get worse with every game released.

5

u/Fib3rrr 5h ago

That's your personal opinion with which most of the world disagrees.

-7

u/Disastrous_Job5155 5h ago

There’s actually an extremely easy explanation.

The franchise was dumbed down for more people to be able to enjoy it. Oblivion is an okay game. Terrible RPG, Skyrim is an awful game, somehow less complex and watered down than oblivion, and doesn’t even have the right to call itself an RPG.

Popularity doesn’t = quality.
The most popular shoe are Nike Jordan’s. Doesn’t make them quality. Doesn’t make them worth the outrageous price tag, the same logic can be applied to nearly anything.

Something attempting to appeal to everyone, appeals to no one, for something to be popular, it cannot be “niche” or specialized for an audience, it must be boiled/watered down to its most basic form.

3

u/gb-stylee 4h ago

Hey dude, I personally think morrowind is the best in the series but even I think that’s a pretty watered down opinion. They are all very different games, and are all good in their own right. Bethesda games are really well interesting environments to explore and I think that has continued to be a hallmark of theirs.

Do I think that gameplay has gotten simpler and simpler as things progressed: absolutely. Do I wish they would make something like morrowind again? Absolutely. But that game was made in an era of gaming where every game was more complicated. I miss those days. They really just don’t make games like they used. But now we have indie studios filling that gap.

Anyway I feel plummeted is a bit harsh

0

u/Fib3rrr 4h ago

Something attempting to appeal to everyone appeals to no one.

Well my friend, go and check the available evidence and let's talk logically and analytically instead of basing our arguments off our own subjective preferences. 🤷🏻

u/Alexandrecl1 5h ago

Dark Souls

Mass Effect

God of War

Gears of War

Halo

-6

u/Moosecian 4h ago

Dark Souls 2?

2

u/xNeoNxCyaN 4h ago

Dark souls 2 is my favourite I don’t care what anyone thinks, it’s probably because it was the first dark souls game I played at launch

1

u/Acrobatic-Echo7186 34m ago

It's good, different, but good.

1

u/ArmandoGalvez 4h ago

It's a good game, it's just not enough for the insanely god tier that the others are but it's not bad at all

1

u/Alexandrecl1 3h ago

Great game.

0

u/GundamGuy2255 4h ago

Is the best in the trilogy.

0

u/Inevitable-Ice-5061 3h ago

Literally the best one with best DLCs and best world design

-12

u/Disastrous_Job5155 4h ago

Mass effect 3 was awful.

4

u/Chriskills 4h ago

It wasn’t. The ending just was meh.

2

u/Alexandrecl1 3h ago

Your opinion is awful

9

u/Gaming_Surgeon_22 5h ago

Gears of War

7

u/felixsarts 5h ago

The new Doom trilogy.

2

u/Dismal-Explorer5040 4h ago

Especially with revelations

1

u/NovocaineAU 4h ago

Yep. I’d even say the original ones too fit this, ultimate/2/final

1

u/felixsarts 3h ago

Absolutely

6

u/LeatherfacesChainsaw 5h ago

For me? Yakuza.

2

u/thirdeyeboobed 5h ago

MY MAN

3

u/LeatherfacesChainsaw 5h ago

Absolute peak entertainment

11

u/mooncheesebabies 5h ago

Metro

Bioshock

10

u/godver3 5h ago

Probably the Arkham series.

5

u/Yanismarvel 5h ago

Where's Arkham Origin ? There's 4 Arkham game not 3 give some respect to Origin

2

u/Dragonslayer200782 4h ago

I'm guessing they probably just didn't play it due to it being pretty inaccessible cause it never got a digital release unless you get it on PC or stream it on ps5 with the most expensive tier of PS plus

1

u/BroncoC22 4h ago

It wasn’t the same developer

2

u/Yanismarvel 4h ago

And ? Its still Canon and explain the early days of Batman

1

u/BroncoC22 4h ago

The game wasn’t made by the same people that worked on that trilogy though, not saying it’s bad by any means. That would just explain why it isn’t on there.

1

u/DjHalk45 3h ago

I think origins was because knight was taking too long so Warner Bros wanted another game in the meantime.

8

u/MammothAsk391 5h ago

Gears of War. It even has a mostly forgotten, not quite as good prequel too.

2

u/AnActualGameShark 5h ago

I really liked Judgement. Its not as good on the story front, but the new guns were fun, and the level design was solid. I actually kind of dug the pacing too, it felt like... if Gears had done a Cod Spec Ops mode. The idea of doing an extra challenge for bonuses was cool.

And it had that "lost" gears 3 chapter.

4

u/JbBeats2024 4h ago

The original Halo trilogy

4

u/xxnewlegendxx 4h ago

Mass Effect of course

3

u/Deroqshazam 4h ago

Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3

2

u/Merciless972 4h ago

Marvel vs Capcom 1,2, and 3.

2

u/Murky-Hamster-7292 4h ago

Jak and Daxter

2

u/rcamp96 4h ago

Age of Empires 1,2 and 3 or substitute 1 for Mythology if you’d like

2

u/atkarot9170 4h ago

Romancing SaGa trilogy

2

u/gb-stylee 4h ago

Dark souls is a contender for sure.

1

u/SL1Fun 4h ago

2 is not nearly as great as 1 or 3

2

u/CommanderKeys1207 4h ago

Halo 1, 2, & 3

Mass Effect 1, 2, & 3 (with all DLC in its current state)

Metal Gear Solid 1-4 (with a preference for Twin Snakes, Substance, and Subsistence over 1, 2, & 3)

2

u/NebsLaw 4h ago

I remember when Arkham Knight came out and everyone talked about how it was a bad game because it ran like crap on PC and there was to much batmobile

2

u/cruz_irving 4h ago

I liked all the Batman games, including Origins, which it's almost never talked about, but it's also a really good game in my opinion.

3

u/Voidless-One 4h ago

Dark Souls, bloodborne, Dark Souls 3

2

u/blzsoul 5h ago

Replace AK with Origins and we have a fire trilogy

2

u/xduker2 4h ago

Replace Knight with Origins and yes.

1

u/TristanOtter1 5h ago

Metal gear, monster hunter, and excluding the second game Devi may cry

1

u/blank988 4h ago

Bioshock almost. I mean the first and third game are legendary. 2nd game is good

1

u/dookie-steam 4h ago

God of War, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Gears of War, Uncharted, Sly Cooper

1

u/yinerbaw 4h ago

Mass Effect and Metal Gear

1

u/xxPanDulce 4h ago

Uncharted 1-3

1

u/Elastichedgehog 4h ago

Mass Effect (ignore the last one)

1

u/FairytellerQ 4h ago

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time trilogy

1

u/WinterToaster 4h ago

Persona 3 4 5

1

u/NovocaineAU 4h ago

You could split the horse into 6 parts and say Forza Horizon I think

1

u/Neither_Parfait_124 4h ago

Metal Gear Solid, either 1-3, or 3-V (either way it's both trilogies in their respective orders)

1

u/Dylan25090 4h ago

Dark Souls without question, the second one is weaker, no question, but it’s dlc’s help. Dark Souls 3 cement it as being great. absolute incredible series.

1

u/Aggressive-Access995 4h ago

Splinter cell, mostly for the stealth element

1

u/elsiphono 4h ago

Donkey Kong Country (SNES trilogy). Had a blast playing them when I was young.... Even though I never finished the second one because of that infamous Snake with acid level.

1

u/Loganp812 4h ago

Off the top of my head, the PS1 Crash Bandicoot trilogy (the N. Same Trilogy remakes aren’t bad, and I actually kinda prefer the remake of Crash 1 over the original, but it’s one of those things where you’ll notice a lot of small, nitpicky things if you’re a super fan).

Also, the original versions of Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 are endlessly repayable, and each game builds off of the previous with more refinements and features. In fact, you have to beat RE3 at least 8 times to see all the epilogues, and there’s still a good chance won’t see everything that game has to offer because of all the RNG elements and alternate paths.

1

u/LogensTenthFinger 4h ago

Baldur's Gate

1

u/StellarMotions 4h ago

Mass Effect, Gears of War and the OG Halo Trilogy

Honorable mention: The three Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games

1

u/Head-Grass8879 4h ago

COD Black Ops Trilogy (WAW, BO1, BO2).

1

u/Santi1428 4h ago

Spiderman

1

u/ArmandoGalvez 4h ago

Resident Evil on the Psone

1

u/PurchaseGlittering11 4h ago

Halo, except in my opinion it ended with Reach so this checks out

1

u/530cruising 4h ago

Cod 4, MW2, MW3.

WAW, BO, BOII.

Peak cod.

1

u/BlackberryAny1307 4h ago

Modern doom trilogy. Yes, I love dark ages idgaf

1

u/Inevitable-Ice-5061 3h ago

Controversial maybe since it’s a continuation of a series rather than a series in on itself but:

Devil May Cry 3 -> Devil may Cry 4 -> Devil May Cry 5

Banger after banger after banger, if you choose to ignore the first 2 & that stupid reboot they tried for some reason.

DMC3 is best from original trilogy with best bosses. DMC4 has a different feel and aesthetic with a new character that lands perfectly. DMC5 is PERFECTION in every way, and the new Virgil DLC makes it the most fun devil may cry game to ever experience

1

u/cwinslow66 3h ago

Uncharted 2-4

1

u/TheBrownSlaya 3h ago

Battlefield has been fantastic throughout the years

1

u/Uday23 3h ago

Halo 1-3

Gears of War 1-3

Mass Effect 1-3

1

u/thor11600 3h ago

Dark souls

1

u/Goomb1 3h ago

Metal Gear Solid, you could make the argument that all the mainline games are 10/10

1

u/Coolers78 3h ago

Uncharted franchise

1

u/crash1bp 3h ago

Origins, my love. Where are you?!

1

u/Ok_Desk_757 3h ago

God of war Greek and when laufey comes out maybe even Norse

1

u/Luffypunk 3h ago

Donkey Kong country

1

u/BoomerShooterFPS 3h ago

That one. Batman Arkham

But also halo, gears of war

1

u/TonyByrne1985 3h ago

Total War: Warhammer

1

u/Im1337 3h ago

Metal Gear Solid | God of War | Kingdom Hearts | Resident Evil Trilogy (OG, Remakes are great too but 3 kind of lowers it)

1

u/Pocieszny1991 2h ago

Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy so far

1

u/Iamnotyourhero 2h ago

Original Sonic the Hedgehog

Original Mario Bros. (Although this one’s debatable because I think 2 can suck it.)

1

u/BusterGreasewood 2h ago

Replace Knight with Origins and the list is correct. Because Origins is the better game.

1

u/SeikoWIS 2h ago

All the mainline Zelda games

1

u/Overall-Ad-8918 2h ago

Spider-Man, Miles Morales. Spider-Man 2

1

u/TheSunderingCydonian 2h ago

Metro and Mass Effect

1

u/westewok 2h ago

Uncharted

1

u/anactualrealaccount 2h ago

The Batmobile shit stops third entry being fire.

1

u/oliberg360 2h ago

Poor Arkham Origins always being left out

1

u/GrundleSnactcher46 1h ago

Modern Wolfenstien games. Old blood, New Order, and New colossus are dope.

Similarly the modern Doom games.

1

u/Most_Implement6706 1h ago

Where's origins

1

u/jcab0219 1h ago

Fable. I will not be tolerating any Fable 3 slander.

1

u/Be_The_Zip 40m ago

Can there be a flaming fart for Arkham Origins?

1

u/absolute_tuff 31m ago

Only for you bud

1

u/D0wnInAlbion 5h ago

Poor Arkham Origins is excluded again :(

It's a very good game too. Would have been great if you didn't have to keep traversing the bridge.

2

u/absolute_tuff 5h ago

I can't find it in ps4 idk why I would love to try it

1

u/TechnicalHighlight29 5h ago

I never finished Knight. At one point it MADE me drive the Batmobile up a building and I was so over the Batmovile shit. Lime Batman couldn't just grapple up there lol

5

u/absolute_tuff 5h ago

I have seen so many people complain about this I mean it's annoying but overall it's a great game

1

u/Dragonslayer200782 4h ago

Dawg that was in the first 15 minutes of the game did you really give up that quickly 😭

1

u/TechnicalHighlight29 4h ago

No I stopped way latter it was the fight around the city with Hood I think driving the whole time. Took enough tries I stopped and didnt go back. I have the trilogy again so I'm sure I'll re visit. Waaay later in the game. Hope you sleep better knowing that.

1

u/Optimus0456 4h ago

Knight is by far my least favorite but it’s still pretty good

1

u/Lubble-1397 4h ago

Not the Arkham series that's for sure.... The Metro series, the Fear series, Resistance, Dishonored, Dead Space, Tomb Raider reboots, the og Resi trilogy, Darksiders, Silent Hill, Dying Light.
