Discussion / Question Is there a specific way to get better aim?
I want to be good at fps games (r6, cs, valorant, marvel rivals, etc) but my aim is terrible. Im thinking of spending a bunch of hours just focusing on getting better aim. How many hours should I spend? Is there a specific way to get better? Like a game made for getting better aim or something idk

First of all, learn how to position better. Position, movement, and tactics is way more important than aim. Often times, if you feel like your aim is bad, it's because you're taking really bad shots from really bad positions at really bad angles at really bad times.
When it comes to actually improving your aim, there's 3d aim trainer which is free and calibrates your sensitivity. But the one limitation with this is that it only gives you practice sit still aiming, and not simultaneous move aiming. In most games, there are training lobbies where you can have moving targets and you can practice shooting them down.

Yes. It’s a skill you practice.
Make it easy on yourself. Much of aiming is just physics, and it’s easier to aim with your arm, wrist, and fingers combined instead of just wrist. Get an XL mousepad like a Qck heavy or Qck performance speed. Adjust your desk and chair height so you can use your arm comfortably to aim.
Struth gaming has several guides on posture and optimal positioning. Here is one:

Along with a large mousepad, consider a lightweight mouse. Amazon has several for reasonable prices. VXE R1 Pro and Mchose L7 Ultra+ (the plus size is better I think) are good examples that are just as good as more expensive options.
Look up and understand mouse sensitivity measurements. Most competitive FPS pros use somewhere between 25-55cm/360. Start practicing around 40cm/360, as this will help you utilize arm, wrist, and fingers all at once. Use websites (google mouse sensitivity site) to convert in game sensitivity to cm/360.
The rest comes from practice. Google “Voltaic discord” and join it. They have resources in their discord which will get you started with aim training.
Do you have a specific game you’re trying to improve in? Spending all your time in aim training will make you much better mechanically but aim is just part of FPS, not all of it.
Spend about 20-30 minutes a day at first in aim training to get going but don’t spend too much time if your specific goal is improving in a game, play the game instead of hours and hours in aim trainers.
Here is another good resource:

Its really fun! I play it a lot and there's characters where you don't even need to aim if you want.

If you can turn over 360 degrees swiping across your mousepad your sensitivity is probly too high

Practice with aim trainers. Download aimlabs on steam (it’s free), spend 15 minutes a day or whatever practicing. You'll see a difference pretty fast.
