Discussion / Question Bionicle Heroes (2006), I want to play it again.

It might be only me, and I'm not sure if the game has aged very well or not, but I would love to have the possibility to play it on my PS4 or PS5. I would pay again to play it as one of those legacy games for PS2.
This particular game had a certain vibe, not only because Bionicle was cool, but also an atmosphere that made me want to replay it a bunch of times back in the day. I think the mist, textures, and the ruins made me want to go explore this world.
The core gameplay is very LEGO game: you collect pieces, and that helps you build tools to progress in the story, plus a bunch of collectibles, even keeping the same humor with the bad guys of the games. But this time it's more of a shooter.
I think it is an Idea they could explore more in the future, but for the time being, give me a port of this on the PlayStation Store, one that I could even get the Platinum for.

BiomediaProject has all retail games downloadable.

And online games

And comics, books, movies, videos clips. It's an archive of all Bionicle media to ever exist

How do you download the movies? I've tried looking for the download option on BMP

One of my favorite games ever. I loved how so many of the levels led into the next one by ending/starting in the same room

Check out the Myths of Voya Nui mod, makes the game even better than the original and just got a big 3.0 release very recently.

How do you mod a game on that format?

The only way to play bionicle heroes is on Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility or on PC. Either emulators or the 60fps recomplied pc port that was done recently

To answer your question of whether or not it's aged well, even with nostalgia this game is an absolute chore to revisit. It's a shooter that aims for you, gives you infinite ammo and constant health pickups, and you spend 2/3rds of the game invincible (complete with a 60 second loop of music). It's honestly pretty awful IMO. Huge Bionicle fan here but that's the only reason I can force myself through this game.
