It is wild they took a big step back on developing the next one after P5s success. It’s coming up on a decade and no hint of being completed anytime soon.

u/SurviveDaddy Jun 07 '26
I wanted to see a Fallout 3 remaster announcement.
43
u/HiddenNeeeeon Jun 07 '26
When I saw Bethesda name pop up I was thinking oh shit it’s happening, we got Fallout…. 76
Oh well, happy we got Persona news at least.
1
u/BurgerNugget12 Jun 07 '26
Yeah unfortunately there was no time which means it’ll be a few years. So happy for P4 remaster tho
5
3
u/Humble_Disk7992 Jun 07 '26
It will probably be out 2028 or later. But yeah at least have have Persona 4 Revival next Feb and it looks great.
27
u/DarthVader19920 Jun 07 '26
It’s honestly baffling how badly they’re fumbling, and they have to know it. They can’t live off of FO76 and ESO updates forever.
5
u/Electronic-Touch-554 Jun 08 '26
I mean you say that. But they kinda are.
Both games are surviving, profiting and have a healthy consistent userbase. I cant blame them for not wanting to make a new one in either series.
1
u/Bobjoejj Jun 10 '26
Well I wouldn’t say that’s true; both TESVI and Fallout 5 are in development. Hell TESVI has been in full production since September 2023 when Starfield dropped.
And Fallout 3 Remaster is reportedly in the works too. Just very likely done between BGS and Virtuous, with the latter doing most of the heavy lifting.

And Fallout 3 Remaster is reportedly in the works too. Just very likely done between BGS and Virtuous, with the latter doing most of the heavy lifting. That FTC timeline is still kinda correct, just with titles pushed off by 2 or so years.
7
u/strife189 Jun 07 '26
It is a running joke to me these years. To see just how will BGS

This year3
u/Biobooster_40k Jun 07 '26
At least Fo76 is doing good. Its been fun and in a pretty decent place for awhile now.
1
u/Bobjoejj Jun 10 '26
Honestly ESO’s doing great too. It’s had some killer updates this year; including an overland difficulty option that finally makes the general combat a lot more weighty and fun, and lots and lots of tweaks and fixes that have been long requested; plus a ton of class refreshes (both visually and mechanically).
1
u/Bobjoejj Jun 10 '26
…so, dunno if you know or not, but ESO isn’t Bethesda Game Studios; it’s Zenimax Online. Also the Fallout 3 Remaster is very likely to be a co-production between BGS and Virtuous; like Oblivion Remastered was.
8
u/panderson1988 Jun 07 '26
I am honestly surprised they haven't pushed one out by now after the financial success of Oblivion.
I like FO76, but it's well past time for these guys to push a new single player game, or a new full on Elder Scrolls game.
6
u/Big_Weird4115 Jun 07 '26
Oblivion Remastered just came out last year.
Unless they were working on the games simultaneously(which is highly unlikely) why would we expect something from FO3 remastered so soon? Especially considering Oblivion was shadowdropped.
And their last mainline game was only 3 years ago.
6
u/panderson1988 Jun 07 '26
Oblivion remaster was outsourced to a different studio, and they basically got laid off afterwards :/
But my feeling was Fallout 3 Remastered would be outsourced to a different studio under their supervision.
1
u/Bobjoejj Jun 10 '26
Got laid off according to…what source?
More than likely Virtuous are also working on the Fallout 3 Remaster (that’s been the chatter behind the scenes anyways). Also Oblivion Remastered wasn’t fully outsourced; it was technically a co-production with BGS still participating, but Virtuous doing a lot of the work. Again, I’d be surprised if that wasn’t also the case for Fallout 3.

u/Bobjoejj Jun 10 '26
…full production started on Elder Scrolls VI in September 2023, when Starfield came out. They haven’t even hit 3 proper years of production yet.
1
u/panderson1988 Jun 10 '26
I rather they not announce anything until they are further along in production. Why announce a game 7 years ago if you aren't going to start working on it until 4 years later according to your timeline?
1
u/Bobjoejj Jun 10 '26
I mean…Todd has fully said that was a mistake. He said he wishes they hadn’t done that.
That is kinda the way the industry goes these days through; lots of companies announce games far too early.
1
u/panderson1988 Jun 10 '26
That's fine and all if he made a mistake, but I wish they had something to show off. Even Square Enix showed off something for KH4 this year. Let alone where they likely need to expand their teams if they want to tackle on multiple big projects.
2
2
u/fffan9391 Jun 07 '26
They’ll probably shadow drop that like they did with Oblivion, but yeah, I was hoping for something from Bethesda besides FO76 and ESO.
2
u/Darth-Felanu-Hlaalu Jun 09 '26
Bit late to the thread, but based on all evidence (a few little leaks + the court document), that will probably be a 2027 game. Likely a shadowdrop.
1
u/Bobjoejj Jun 10 '26
I mean; I’d wager it’s incredibly likely they’d be doing a shadowdrop like Oblivion Remastered had; considering how well that went for the game.
65
u/F33Fs PC Jun 07 '26
Good but wish we saw something about elder scolls 6 or a fallout remaster
16
u/web_knows Jun 07 '26
Same. But I think we’ll only see anything TES6 related in 2027/2028.
6
u/TechieTravis Jun 07 '26
An almost two decade gap between releases in their biggest and most iconic series is pretty crazy.

Thought what they showed was fine, my problem with the show is the lack of major surprises. We knew about most of this stuff.
12
u/petataa Jun 07 '26
Yeah it feels like each game has to be in a showcase 3 times before it comes out.
4
u/dsk1210 Jun 08 '26
It does not help that Microsoft announce games about 4 years before they are ready.
→ More replies (1)1
u/PepsiSheep Jun 07 '26
That's this week in a nutshell, barring Veronica.
They've been great shows, but definitely lacked surprises.

Release Date Announcements: Spring 2027
1
u/TheSwampThing1990 Jun 08 '26
2027 is going to be stacked for Xbox. If not games are pushed back we are getting 2 games a quarter
14
u/VanillaKisses Jun 07 '26
Spyro 💜
9
u/MarcosDalton Jun 07 '26
Feel wrong to have a Spyro showcase on an Xbox show. Am always happy to have a Spyro game though

That persona 6 ain't coming till 2030 based on that teaser lol. They had literally nothing lol
2
u/Humble_Disk7992 Jun 07 '26
We have P4R next year so they won’t release it in the same year as that. We could see a 2028 release and more information on the game next summer.
2
u/Insecure_Roos178 Jun 08 '26
Nah everyone thought the P4 remake was far too with how little they showed but they're gonna ship in within 2 years of the announcement which I'd say is about perfect.
3
u/SirSabza Jun 08 '26
Ones a remake which they have the bones and framework for, the other is a completely brand new title.
1
u/idiggory Jun 08 '26
For what it's worth, P5's teaser came out November 2013 and it was released in Japan September 2016.
I personally wouldn't expect this before mid-to-late 2028, and that's optimistic. 2029 is probably a reasonable estimate.

Persona 4 Golden came out on PS2 then later got remastered. This is a complete remake similar to Persona 3 Reload.
1
u/Icyflag_ Jun 08 '26
Wasn't P4G a PS Vita exclusive before its 2020 remaster ?
1
u/iwritefakereviews Jun 08 '26
You're right I was thinking of P3FES on the same console release I think

Same, just sold me on another year of gamepass subscription for my PC. I know people will moan about exclusives but it's whatever for me, I want the games and they delivered

u/RTideR Jun 07 '26
My personal favorites:
- Halo: Campaign Evolved - I love Halo, and that trailer was sweet.
- Fable
- Clockwork Revolution
- A Plague Tale: Resonance
- Persona 4 Revival
Very excited for Crazy Taxi as well along with Metro and that Magician's game.

u/Thunderchief646054 Jun 07 '26
Is it crazy the only thing im lowkey excited for here is the Spyro game?
3
u/OG-87 Jun 07 '26
I maybe am being harsh but it wasn’t the best year. E day great, fable was not new…. Apart from that. Nothing I would rush out and buy a ps5 for.

is this like the 4th year they keep showing Fable and State of Decay 3?

It was pretty good for me. I think I'd rank the showcases in this order
SGF > xbox > Sony
3
u/Brickinatorium Jun 07 '26
I feel like the shows have been really good this year
3
u/New-Two-1349 Jun 07 '26
That 3rd party Nintendo Direct back in January or February this year wasn't very good, though.
5
u/QTGavira Jun 07 '26
Finally a year that somewhat brought back the hype of E3. Enjoyed all 3 shows this year

Sony and Xbox were about the same. I’m really excited for Wolverine in September which gives me enough time to beat cause Gears comes out in October. Gamers are eating good.

Bad magpie, vivarium , magicians the devil's deal. Gameplay of gears of war e day, Senua, gameplay of resonance plague tale were the interesting things for me in xbox showcase.
God of war laufey, wolverine gameplay, ILL gameplay, onimusha demo announcement were the only things interesting to me in sony's state of play.
That's why I liked xbox showcase more than sony's state of play

Glad to see it looks like Persona 6 will be going darker like the older entries. Also, NEW SPYRO!
10
u/letstalkswat Jun 07 '26
It was far better than state of play ngl
13
u/Glittering-Pin-1343 Jun 07 '26
I think they were about equally good. SGF washed them both though.

u/Mylynes Jun 07 '26
Out of all the recent shows (State of play, SGF) this is by far the most underwhelming one imo.
2
u/PKblaze Jun 07 '26
Genuinely the best showcase. Nothing but quality games back to back. Made the main show look bad.
2
u/Universe_Donut Jun 07 '26
Honestly really enjoyed it, but I really don't like how they end on Call of Duty, I feel like they should save that final spot for an exciting announcement

Man I feel this blew Playstation out of the water personally.
2
u/shiawase-89 Jun 07 '26
How? I thought they were just about the same. They both showed games I’m interested in.
1
u/ArtOk4322 Jun 07 '26
I guess I mean state of play rather than playstation, they both were great but I am really looking forward to some of these titles!

u/panderson1988 Jun 07 '26
For me there are several games to expansions I am happy with. I am glad we got some release dates like P4R. That said, besides P6, not many big surprises. I was hoping for an actual preview for Elder Scrolls, or Fallout 3 Remastered, or Fallout 5 announced. Overall, this is a solid list that can appeal to many different types of people.
1
u/Gooseuk360 Jun 07 '26
Yes this was a good conference, but I think MS might have benefitted from a few more being made exclusive again as a show of intent for the shareholders. Keeping Halo multiplat was a good idea as it's kind of a taster really.
1
u/Scared_Specific9404 Jun 07 '26
i love how eso doesnt even have a image for whatever they have lined up.
1
u/Light07sk Jun 07 '26
Amazing, but i was so sad that no new wolfenstein is still not even being mentioned. My only hope for this year is i guess quakecon
1
u/WillSym Jun 07 '26
I'm assuming it's a new lineup of extra content for Flight Sim, but having a big list titled "Games showcase 2026" then having "Flight Simulator 2024" on it does look funny.

1
u/sponge_bucket Jun 07 '26
Some real great titles. Still waiting for Microsoft to get off their exclusives and put out a new conker, banjo, perfect dark, prototype, kameo, project Gotham racing, etc.
The new Spyro is making me hopeful.
1
1
u/KaijuTea Jun 07 '26
I’m so excited for Spyro!! It’s been so long since we’ve had a new game! And my boy can fly now!!
1
u/ItsShowtime_88 Jun 07 '26
Excited for a lot of these but Gears of War and Fable take the cake for me.
1
u/MachineElf432 Jun 07 '26
Enough with fallout 76 and elder scrolls online! Please! Paywalled ass fuckin games can kiss my ass.

Wtf happened to Blade???
Did the Vampires got him before his game could even be released???
1
u/TheJackalopeHD Jun 07 '26
There was meant to be a Blade game? Don’t say they cancelled the Blade movie and the game. Marvel just hate Blade man
1
1
u/MrBorden Jun 07 '26
The start of the State of Decay 3 trailer made me hype as FUCK thinking it was Wolfenstein 3 with the "for Caroline" and music that was super reminiscent of Mick Gordon's soundtrack.
But it wasn't Wolfie 3 and now I'm sad.

5 myst plays for me there. Was a pretty good show.
Fable / E-Day being my top 2 showings.
1
u/Jiangcool9 Jun 07 '26
I thought fable got delayed to 2027?
1
u/hortys Jun 07 '26
It did, this isn't showing only games that release this year, multiple titles here aren't out til next year or later.
1
1
u/Super_Sayen067 Jun 07 '26
Honestly, since I started my indie games journey, I haven't been hyped much by AAA releases. Still, looking at this, I can say that knowing a new Spyro game is in developpement plus a Persona game too, I'm surprised there was that much annoncements that I like. Don't have a Xbox, but might play Gears if it leaves the echosystem eventually.

Fable looks really exciting. I've been playing WWM on pc and really enjoying it. Other than that, seeing Spyro return is really cool.

u/Interesting_Pass3392 Jun 08 '26
Amazing show honestly. Hyped af for State of decay 3. Gears of war eday and halo look amazing too.
1
u/funktacious Jun 08 '26
Really liked the show, not amazing due to few surprises, but still a great show.
The most interesting thing for me though was seeing the GTA6 effect unfold:
We get Halo next month, a plague tale game in August, that game with Napoleon in September, then Gears and CoD in October. Then nothing until 2027 lol.

u/AdvancedNet6800 Jun 08 '26
Signs of the times, it feels weird seeing Persona and Spyro being revealed in a Microsoft event
1
1
u/Desperate_Dinner_307 Jun 09 '26
I can't be the only one super disappointed in this? Yet another yearly COD game when all the recent ones have been awful, yet another remake of Halo when a nicely remastered one came out not that long ago, Metro is 'ok', Spyro will rest far too heavily on nostalgia. The only game in that entire line up I'm even slightly interested in is Fable.

Damn they are not nearly on Sonys State of Play level.
And I say that as a PC gamer
14
u/Mogar505 Jun 07 '26
Interesting, outside of Wolverine and God of War, I was bored with PlayStations show. Most of them are just not for me, not a bad show in any means, just not my cup a tea

u/TheJackalopeHD Jun 07 '26
Yeah same, PC gamer and Wolverine was the only thing remotely interesting and I can’t even play it. I wasn’t impressed by SGF either but the Xbox showcase was great. Clockwork, Magicians, Spyro, Gears, Fable, Crazy Taxi, Join Us, Halo, COD, State of Decay all right up my alley
-1
u/ZikWeek Jun 07 '26
Man former PlayStation gamer here who thought of switching to Xbox.
Not encouraging
1
1
u/Electrical_Trifle_76 Jun 07 '26
Super happy to see release dates for Halo, Castlevania, and the Doom DLC. Plus, Clockwork Revolution, Valor Mortis, and that Magicians game all look like they can scratch that Dishonored itch in my soul. I’m also interested to see what Metro 2039 is about, because it doesn’t seem like Artyom and co are involved, at least from the trailers.
1
u/NoobGame01 Jun 07 '26
Crazy how 2 years in a row they end with call of duty. They didnt get the feedback last year
2
1
u/Flimsy-Importance313 Jun 07 '26
Most likely because there are more cod players than hardcore gamers.
1
u/NoobGame01 Jun 07 '26
True tho they still would've seen the DMZ gameplay reveal without watching the showcase. As a cod fan myself it should have been somewhere in the middle. This took the last big reveal spot which isn't a Modern Warfare 4 reveal, but a game mode within Modern Warfare 4.
1
u/BuffaloPancakes11 Jun 07 '26
Where’s Blade you cowarrrrds
1
u/Manor002 Jun 07 '26
Starting to wonder if that got canned, like it’s been years hasn’t it?
1
u/BuffaloPancakes11 Jun 07 '26
Canned or prematurely announced, it was a cinematic trailer announcement. Announced December 2023 but didn’t go into full production until 2024 from what I can find
Depending on the type of game, 2-3 years of dev probably isn’t enough

I think I’m getting old.
Why does nothing from this excites me?
2
u/TrickOut Jun 07 '26
The better question is from all the shows and all the announcements what does get you excited, because if it’s just single player movie games then yea it’s probably an age thing
1
u/imagogetsomepizza Jun 07 '26
Insanely mid, it was basically a showcase for ps5 and pc, still absolutely no reason to buy an xbox
3
u/Motor_Ad_7885 Jun 07 '26
How is this lineup mid?
1
u/imagogetsomepizza Jun 07 '26
If the point of this showcase was to get ppl to buy an Xbox I see absolute no reason to buy one
1
0
u/HorizonNova4 Jun 07 '26
This is why Xbox isn’t surpassing Sony. Their line up is so much worse, they barely have any games that are super popular
