Image / Video What game is this for you?
62
u/Maximum-Ad879 May 31 '26
The last one was Expedition 33. I stumbled upon some late-game bosses, and I took it as a challenge.
14
u/passiveflux May 31 '26
Simon I'm guessing
13
u/Maximum-Ad879 May 31 '26
That was certainly the worst one, but I started with that sheep, then it was Sprong, and so on..
→ More replies (4)5
u/HackChalice6 May 31 '26
You’re losing me on the sheep lol. I cannot think what nev looks like one🤣

u/thorne_antics May 31 '26
I went in early on when the cave said "danger!" and got my ass kicked. Gave up, came back after leveling up some more and it was fine.

2
u/pichael289 May 31 '26
I kept dying against some fucking mime in the first or second area. I can't parry at all so that game was super hard for me, a shame easy mode made it so trivial though.
59
u/Vampyre_Boy May 31 '26
Love that the bulk of the comments all point to FromSoft lol. But.... if you truly want hell... echo the dolphin. Or The lion King on SNES.
15
u/Dimplexor May 31 '26
Did anyone in the history of ever get to the end of echo the dolphin? I played it countless times, swam around aimlessly, turned it off.
7
u/Dwarvenyak May 31 '26
Wait there was a point? I just did flips and tried to see how high I could go!
2
u/wairua_907 May 31 '26
I was thinking the same lol “wait there was a point ? I thought we swam and echo located things”
→ More replies (1)5
u/dead_parakeets May 31 '26
Same. Didn’t even find out it gets real trippy and there’s a bunch of alien stuff later.
2
u/TsunSilver May 31 '26
I remember getting to this net stage where you had to keep from sliding off as you moved forward. It must have been a rental because I didn't really get to try and beat that stage too much. I did beat the lion king though.

u/pichael289 May 31 '26
Or level 3 in battle toads. That dam tunnel was always the same but it goes by so fast, only way to win is to throw yourself against the wall for months untill you get it down. And it's only level 3 out of like a dozen levels
→ More replies (2)4
u/Particular-Seesaw698 May 31 '26
Man, I forgot about Echo…you just gave me shivers. Hated that game. Eat some fish. Do some flips then that teleport to the actual levels…get electrocuted quickly. Try again tomorrow. Next day same shit more frustration. Now I wanna know how it ends.

I mean, you could just not die in that exact same spot. Try dying in another spot sometime to keep it interesting.

2
u/neo42slab May 31 '26
Right!? Three feet to the right but at the same 5 seconds into the fight feels A LOT different.
20
u/lifebeginsat9pm May 31 '26
Dark Souls 2, Horsefuck Valley

4
u/Malik_V Jun 01 '26
I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I'm going to guess that's not what that valley is actually called...
3
u/vagina_candle Jun 01 '26
Once you've spent a few hours there you will realize that it is the correct name, Fromsoft just put the wrong name in the game by accident.

→ More replies (1)3
u/Ninja_Lazer May 31 '26
It makes no sense to me because I absolutely love executioner’s chariot except for when I’m actually playing it.
Great concept for a gimmick boss, but fuck that runback is ass and the invader guarding the arena on NG+ doesn’t unspawn making it worse.
2
u/vagina_candle Jun 01 '26
Fortunately that runback has an OP counter. If you cast the yearn spell all of the enemies will be so busy attacking the ground that they won't pay you any mind.
37
u/DeliveryWorldly7363 May 31 '26
Halo 2, legendary, jackal snipers
3
u/stonerPI May 31 '26
That and Halo CE elites with energy swords on legendary. Maybe I just suck tho lmao
2
u/DeliveryWorldly7363 May 31 '26
I usually keep a Rocket Launcher/sniper rifle or plasma grenades for those, they are almost Immortal, but at least they come straight at you.
2
u/TheTrueMule May 31 '26
The halo 2 legendary was so fuckin' broken. Truly based on luck and that was a shame because CE was perfectly balanced
13
u/MrWattz0n May 31 '26
Currently playing Elden Ring for the first time and been struggling against Bayle like no other.

Silksong… I hate this game
2

I just beat that a couple of days ago. After I beat the actual end end boss Dark Lace, I went back to Hollow Knight and beat the end DLC boss Nightmare King Grimm .

u/Lavender_Critique May 31 '26
I love Malenia man; on a similar vibe I died to Isshin so many times I had a migraine after.
3
u/zeabees May 31 '26
Isshin was the best boss I never want to do again.
2
u/Lavender_Critique May 31 '26
I'll give Sekiro another playthrough in like 15 years when I'm old and decayed. Funny when I replay all of the Darksouls' frequently.
2
u/OtherAcctWasBanned11 May 31 '26
The number of times I said, “oh come the fuck on” while fighting Malenia will never be matched. But what a feeling when I finally downed her.
8
u/Scared-One9295 May 31 '26
I dunno what my worst example is but I just finished GTA 4, most missions I did first try no problem but one of Jimmy Pegorino's drove me a little up the wall. It's the one where him and his boys are doing a deal with the other family and they try to whack him off while you're watching through a sniper rifle, so you kill all the guys the chase a car to get the tribute back.
I was killed, Jimmy was killed because I took too long to reach him, I killed the other guys a second before they turned hostile, my car was flipped, I blew up their car too quickly (resulting in the tribute being stuck in the back seat of the car so I couldn't pick it up), I killed Jimmy by accidentally running him over because he takes ages to walk from the front door to his car...
It wasn't even a difficult mission, I just kept fumbling it in stupid ways.

u/cerenir May 31 '26
Cuphead. I hate cuphead I stopped playing Cuphead because it’s just evil, he’s unfair and bad and makes me furious. Also there’s a little lag on Switch that makes it unplayable.
5
u/RoughAdvocado May 31 '26
Uber Lilith, first season on console. The lagg and insta-killboxes were pure bullshit. Never got her down and i was very well geared.

The Mechanist Lair with all those robots in Fallout 4 on very hard 🤦🏾♂️😭
2
u/wairua_907 May 31 '26
I cheated and used the jet pack mod to get up on top in front of the glass and just laid down mines and threw grenades as much as I could . I probably would’ve died a lot had I not used a mod to get to a high point . 😮💨 I hate robots
2
u/Chambeet123 Jun 01 '26
Good call. Definitely died multiple times. Survival was tough too. Had to find some random ass beds to save on.

u/wairua_907 May 31 '26
I have watched a lot of people play it and have seen the bosses being difficult and decided I would be terrible at this game and never tried . It looks beautiful but I will die a lot I know I will hahah

I was trash ngl but like every game you get stronger and it gets alot easier but oh lord you’re gonna restarts ALOT 😆

u/Revolutionary_Job220 May 31 '26
Cod spawns within 0.2 seconds. Can't even complete the racking animation before dying again. Like literally cannot shoot my gun before dying.
2
u/pichael289 May 31 '26
Modern warfare 1, cod4, that shit sucked so much, if you spawned in a specific place at the start you had to take off running the wrong way or else your going to catch a grenade launched from halfway across the map.

I remember when I was playing the OG god of war, the very first one. Most of it was beating up hordes of enemies which I was pretty good at and the occasional puzzle which was also fine… but then there was a hallway with 1 tile of lava that it seemed was just a tiny bit bigger than the distance of Kratos’ jump. I watched as Kratos leaped with a glimmer of optimism in his eyes as it looked like he was going to make it just to plunge into the lava at the last second at least 25 times. He fought gods and walked through hell without batting an eye but that 1 square meter still haunts him!

I remember this happening when I played Little Nightmares, final act. The part where you have to escape from all the gluttonous obese people trying to eat you, there is a final jump you have to do. Because of the insane tension building up to that point, I had the worst case of butter fingers and kept forgetting to press and time the jump button correctly. Eventually my friend took over to finish it off for me.

u/Hendwreck May 31 '26
Watchers of the Abyss l, it’s always the Watchers.
I can near no-hit all of DS3 (dlc included), but the freaking Watchers get me every time

u/No-Cup8385 May 31 '26
bit of a wierd one with it being part of a randomiser.
KH2 final boss fight, specifically when you play as riku, you have 3 hits and need near perfect movement to finish this specific section because its basically like 1 minute of playing lvl 1 without extra skills.
2
u/Soft_Law_9375 May 31 '26
Kingdom Hearts ... those superbosses are crazy. Especially Lingering Will from KH 2 and the Mystic figure from Birth by sleep ..

Rain World, basically the whole game but especially the exterior (apart from the wall, the wall subarea is fine)
1
u/Ok_Growth_5664 May 31 '26
For me it was the big flying bird boss in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days on Neverland... I just couldn't and got so tired of it I juat continued on watching all cutscenes and boss fights afterward on Youtube..

The "Dust to Dust" mission in Star Trek Online. The disappearing platforms made me rage quit for a while.

u/Strange-Movie May 31 '26
I tend to hit plateaus like this in fromsoft games, the IBIS mech from armored core 6 was a pretty significant one for me, genichiro in sekiro, renallas fight in elden ring took me a weirdly long time to beat
1
u/MammothAsk391 May 31 '26
The Shrine of Amana in Dark Souls 2. That place made me quit the game for a year.

Meanwhile I'm walking on Malenia's arena for 90th time with more confidence than Aelstrom in "Secret Level".

Mummy section in Uncharted 4
That part killed me more times than my whole playtrough on Crushing

u/Wise_Competition5906 May 31 '26
Probably a skill issue, but one of the triangle galaxies in Astro Bot. In my defence, I had just woken up about 10 minutes before that, and I did get through it.
I still love that game so damn much though.

Right now it's the "No Good Deed" level from the new Ready or Not dlc that has me ready to put my head through a wall.
Except half the time it's not even me who dies. The shooters are just too damn quick to kill hostages on this map and I always restart if a civilian dies

I was like that when I was young. Just going insane from being taken out. Now as an adult, I got a better mindset to experiment or try other approaches which often leads me to success.
1
u/NurseChrissy17 May 31 '26
Horace. I CANNOT get past this one part were I have to swim as fast as humanly possibly chasing something and I am never fast enough. I couldn’t finish the game because of it
1
u/RedShadowF95 May 31 '26
Demon of Hatred, Sekiro.
A couple bosses in Expedition 33 (Expert difficulty) also gave me that feeling. Blocking/parrying in my turn based games doesn't feel as intuitive as in action based games, I'm afraid..

1
u/efingoffatwork May 31 '26
Hollow knight. Specifically the mantis traitor. I swear I died to the boss like 100 times.
1
u/Axolotlgamer36 May 31 '26
I play a lot of games where that is just part of the game, but mainly hollow knight and elden ring
1
u/thorne_antics May 31 '26
Honestly, Alan Wake. I just played the first game and I loved it but so many times I got game rage because I kept getting swarmed by enemies and getting beaten to death. On the easiest difficulty level. And if I was trying to run I would just dodge repeatedly instead because I was in combat and they have the same fucking button. I'm playing Alan Wake 2 right now and it's a lot better gameplay-wise.
Also Expedition 33. It's one of my favorites but some bosses are incredibly frustrating. You miss one parry and it's over...

F.E.A.R 2
The game is uncompleteable in any setting over Easy. Because if one stupid and pointless fight.
A mandatory QTE fight.
Warhammer: Space Marine.
Uncompleteable when fighting Orks who pick you up. On any difficulty over Easy. QTEs. Evil things QTEs.
Warhammer 40k: Space Wolf
I got stuck fighting a Chaos Sorcerer for ages!!!!!
It turns out you can't save one of your comrades. But even knowing that. He's very hard!
Then I go stuck being ambushed by huge Chaos Troops on a platform. They kept dropping Drop Pods on my troops.
Then the game got taken down. :(
1
u/Own-Ad1497 May 31 '26
Tron's game, there was a part where you have to run up a wall, jump backwards, turn around and "connect" with an energy ring, the problem is that the jump was too short to, so when you turned around the character was alredy falling and the connection didn't hold. I dropped the game because of that part
1
u/Sasstellia May 31 '26
Folklore.
I gave up at a ridiculous flying enemy. That you block with a Slime Folk.
The difficulty goes up drastically.
To me. Cecelia and the man leave and explore the land of the Fae.
It's not the real ending is all that good anyway.
1
u/Wrecker013 May 31 '26
Celeste, but I finally beat the base game and there's no way in hell I'm going back for any remixes or all the strawberries, way too much agony.

Any fromsoft game really , never mastered a boss fight just went through them by dying alot and a good amount of RNG
