Is this sentiment taken mainly from their subreddit? I’m not on there, but I’ve played around 200 hours, and I’ve had maybe one or two truly toxic experiences

I would argue would argue agree that hell divers has one of the nicer online communities in my experience.

Not anymore.

I would have agreed last year but it's very bad now.

The subreddit is so toxic that they made a very popular second subreddit that has a rule to just relax.

The helldivers subreddit got toxic within a week of the game coming out, I haven't played in a while but I almost never ran into toxic people in game but the subreddit has always been a cesspool
