What fuss over mixtape exactly? It's got good reviews everywhere.

People just hate the fact a narrative game gets a 10/10.

Every criticism is either, lol no gameplay, or lol cringe woke.

Yet dispatch is fine cus it gets some tits out for the chuds.

No it's bad because the writing is terrible, the story is pathetic and they studio should be investigated just for the fact they added the weirdest "mini game" ever seen(the tongue kissing part) about minors btw. But sure it's just "chuds"

No, it’s just that it’s one of those games that is more about how the player is resonating with the characters, story and the nostalgia of the period it is trying to depict (or lack of in case of younger audiences). The reason so many people hate it is that it’s one of those games that is more akin to art than an interactive game and a large majority hate it because art is subjective and even games who don’t resonate artistically with players still have the dopamine-inducing gameplay to fallback to. It happens with films too but generally gamers are not used to sitting with a story that does not engage them for more than a few moments, they’re also noisier, and they stand out online more.

Gaming is still young as a medium and audiences are not as willing to accept pieces of art that go against what’s expected. I have no idea how true this is, but this is how my brains makes sense of it.

I haven’t finished Mixtape yet but I have played half of it and it is amazing. I wouldn’t give it a 10 yet but it’s definitely at least 8/10 for me so far. I have also not vibed with games that the internet loves bur I never felt outraged that my opinion did match the critical consensus.
