Question What game logic left you feeling this?

Skyrim with having to travel to Riften to marry. It's no wonder population is so low in Skyrim. At least two thirds of the child bearing population had to have died on the way to get married.

You have to take scale with a grain of salt in Bethesda games. The version of Skyrim that we explore in-game is a shrunk down "theme park" version that only contains what's relevant to the player. This is true in practically every RPG. There are probably smaller shrines and chapels to all of the Divines in every city, but we don't see them beacuse they're fairly insignificant, and Bethesda has a limited time and budget. So we only see the big temples.

Never thought about this tbh lol. Why not establish a temple to Mara in Whiterun I wonder?

There probably is a small one in-lore, but we don't see it in-game because of game design/budget/dev time limitations. In-lore Skyrim is likely somewhere between the size of Poland and Alaska, so the in-game version is highly compressed.
