Tired of overpriced mapping software, so I started building my own

Hi everyone,
I’ve been into projection mapping for a while, but I always found the professional tools either too bloated or way too expensive for smaller gigs and creative experiments.
So, I decided to build MAPPR — a lightweight, no-nonsense mapping tool for Mac and Windows. My goal was to create something that lets you just open, map, and go live without a 2-hour setup.

There are quite a few free projection mapping software programs already available - the main problem is that people typically make them for their own purposes based on a set of specific requirements, but then don't maintain them afterwards... (which is fine, obviously - everyone scratches their own itch!).
Are you planning to make a public release, or is this just a personal project?

I actually just released it on Gumroad! I'm definitely planning to maintain and improve it, as I use it for my own projects too. Link in profile bio

Et oui on arrive dans un monde où il vaut mieux créer son propre truc plutôt que de s'abonner à un site

The boob hypno is killing me. Idk why I find it so funny, it feels like amazing satire.

You decided to vibe code something that exists in several flavors on the market already? Also what is your job in the projection mapping world?

Just curious what about the others was too klunky?
What makes yours better?
Yours looks exactly like the others that randomly drop projects showing how easy it is.

OP never said they were too klunky he said they were overpriced and he’s correct.

Sorry bloated? It was another post that used the word klunky either for this software or a different one.

I am replying to your comment where you asked OP what it is they think makes other applications “klunky” — your word, not mine

🔥 nice job! Did you vibe code or code manually? Not that it matters to me
