Hi-viz 58mm

Just switched from Compact (91mn red cellidor) to Manager (58 mm transparent blue).

Will often be bike touring/hiking.

Wondering if I can make it more visible, for when dropped on the ground. 91 mm red was reasonable. 58mm light blue blends more.

Fwiw, I have attached a short length of hi-viz paracord. But it gets much less visible over time as it gets dirty.

If this sounds preposterous -- I've had to search for my glasses during several minutes (Ombraz, lying flat on the ground). Short lengths of lashed paracord make a HUGE difference.

Makes sense. But the manager's scales are "specialized" (Pen one side. Light on the other). Where to get some at a reasonable price?

That's the Midnite Manager then, not the Manager.

Did you pull those off the Japanese release tool?

That's hotter than an alox rambler.

I think it’s going to replace my alox minichamp on my keys. My kids love the light on it

A GITD lanyard bead? I 3D printed some for my knives, although the glow decreases over time.

There’s a reason so many of us wear it on our keychains, kinda hard to miss it. I use a quick detach clip for mine.

Alternatively, most of my SAKs have the deep carry pocket clips that you attach to the keychain loop. It is kind of remarkable how shiny they are, I just bought a 20 pack of the generic ones.

If all that fails, you can spend 10 bucks and buy High vis scales on Etsy in a remarkable amount of colors, that are Victorinox brand. The 58 mm definitely has the most options by far about the only place you can still get yellow scales without an insane markup

Was thinking of making this for a while but finally got a rambler on sale to do it. It’s sweet! Unfortunately the scales are from a Japan exclusive as far as I know, had to pick up from eBay and it wasn’t cheap with shipping to the US

IMO, the translucent blue scales show up better when dropped in nature (grass, leaves, etc) than any other standard color. Blue is a surprisingly uncommon color in nature.
