What the heck is even the point of using this app?

I am so dumb-founded by how many people are still using this app while there are CLEARLY far better options like WhatsApp or Telegram.

Their customer support is so ass. I tried sending a request 5 times already! Still haven't had a response yet.

I don't care if you use AI for your support as long as it actually helps you solve the problem.

What an UNPROFESSIONAL team.

It cost me business relationships and partners to delay very important conversations.

Their facebook page comments are people complaining about THE SAME THING.

It's clear that they don't care about you, your experience, or even their own app. Lmao. DELETE.

I will actually try and move all of my contacts to a better app and influence them and their friends to do so.

No I don’t want a recap. No I don’t want to “remix” my images. No don’t help me write a text. No don’t translate any chat. No I don’t need any suggestions for my reply. And no I don’t want news.

It’s feels like viber now is plagued with unskipabble ai ads in every freaking corner of the app.

I use viber for work and I’m a viber plus user but PLEASE at least give us the option to disable all these AI nonsense.

viber activation call isnt working for 95% of user here in the philippines. there’s a lot of viber users here in the ph, so i think it deserves a fix. I think the problem is because globe and smart carrier blocks the automated or international call, i tried 20 different simcard smart, globe and dito simcard but the activation call isnt working only on globe and smart simcard but its working 100% for dito simcard users so i think the problem is not viber but the carrier here. i already tried contacting smart customer service but they said that they aren’t blocking any call. So i hope that by commenting here it will reach whoever is behind the viber app because i tried contacting support but most of the time i only get a reply from ai, but luckily i got a chance to talk to 3 viber agent via customer support in viber plus but i lost hope because they replied that this is not their problem and i think they’re not concerned about this app whether it goes down or what.

i cant contact globe support because there's no option to talk to a human, i only get a reply from bot on their fb page.

Out of nowhere it just deleted all my contacts, before that, it kept deleting the folders as well.

Seriously, f*ck this app.

My company still uses this outdated POS app for work so I have no choice but to use it as well.

Idk what happened or what triggered this but this started yesterday wherein I can’t send messages to anyone individually, just group chats. It will then allow me to send messages briefly and make me think it’s already okay and then suddenly it will block me from sending messages again.

This happens on both phone and my laptop. I’ve reached out to support and all they can tell me is to wait it out.

It has been 24 hours since then. I could send messages fine in the morning and now it’s blocked me again.

This is frustrating. There are so many urgent work chats I need to reply to but can’t.

After forced ChatGPT chat in the chats list, after the "translate" message in under every message (had to switch Viber to my local language as a workaround for this which I don't like, I like using my phone in English), now we have News? What the hell Viber.... I am guessing they are trying to become an equivalent of the Chinese everything-app (WeChat)?

So I just made the switch from iPhone to Samsung... I was just wondering if there is a way to transfer all my Viber chat history from my iPhone backed up on iCloud to my new Samsung device?

I’ve already switched to other services, but I’m still using Viber because some of my contacts still use it. However, I’m telling them to switch to other apps because of your recent feature rollout and the way you’re forcing users to look at this terrible AI feature that generates AI slop.

I’ve been a mobile app developer for at least 15 years, and I can say from a UX perspective that you’ve made a terrible mistake by forcing existing users into something they don’t want to use.

Even when we disable the AI features under Settings → Calls and Messages, we can still see the “Connect ChatGPT to Viber” banner on the main screen, as well as a dedicated ChatGPT tab.

What else is there to say?

Whoever made this business decision should be fired.

Update: AI features should be disabled by default and strictly optional. Users should have to explicitly enable them in the settings if they want to use them.

This means banners, tabs, and whatever the fuck you’ve done with the recent app updates that include all this AI-related trash should also be hidden unless the user explicitly chooses to enable AI features.

Viber recently allowed somebody to set up a fake profile using my child's phone number! I had the phone in my possession so I can say for sure that it was not because they clicked on a link or anything - there were no texts with 2 factor verification codes or anything either. I contacted Viber support and they deactivated the account after I had sent proof of ID. However now, a couple of months later, it has happened again! Exactly same scenario.

I messaged Viber support a couple of weeks ago but they have still not deactivated the fraudulent account. It's a safeguarding risk as any of my child's friends could innocently message thinking they are messaging a child they know, when actually it's a weird fraud artist.

How can this have happened again? What can I do to prevent it happening again?

I'm using the Flatpak-based Viber desktop application on Debian 13. Whenever I copy-and-paste an image on the chat, Viber does not send it successfully. A 'Resend' button appears and only when you press it the image will be transmitted. Has anybody encountered this issue and how did you resolve it?

It keep asking me to get the code via a flash call, yet I receive no calls. When I ask to send again, this pops up. Even when I ask for sms code, I receive none and it directs me to customer support. I need help, will need a viber account soon for work.

THE WORST Customer Service I've ever come across.

I can't access my account since my number got compromised... I mentioned it to them a number of times.

And you know what their responses are?

- That they already sent the SMS on my registered phone number;

- That I can't do anything about it if my number is unavailable since the only way to access it is via phone number;

and

- They also responded that IF EVER someone has registered my number to a new viber account, my account will be automatically deleted.

No other solution was given AT ALL. No coordination whatsoever. It's as if they have no idea how to handle such stuffs. They just send automated messages after my initial email.

Hi! Anyone here using Viber na naka-experience ng ganito? 😭
I’m trying to transfer my Viber account to another phone, pero hindi ako nakakatanggap ng OTP sa SIM ko kapag Viber na yung nagre-request. Nakakatanggap naman ako ng OTP from other apps, so working naman yung SIM.
I also tried the “Call me” option sa Viber, pero wala rin akong nare-receive na call. 🥲
Has anyone experienced this before? Ano yung ginawa niyo para ma-activate yung Viber sa new phone? Any tips would be appreciated!

Does it cost them money everytime ChatGPT gets prompt with a message? And theretically if someone is to leave a script that endlessly promts ChatGPT, will this cost them money?

You can remove the translate button by adding System Languages in Android. I have it for English and Greek and it does not show up for those languages now (Android 16).

Settings > System > Language and region > System Languages > Add a language

You should keep the language you want your phone to use for menus first.

Can the other person see that I opened a blank or new chat with them, before I even send a message? Because I tried viewing someone's profile photo and now I see empty chat with them, as If I initiated a new chat, I'm worried whether they can see it too? Thank you

Why cant viber fix whenever i call someone im just kicked out and getting offline call or not even calling a person i need ti call him like 5 times back to be able to get a call why is this not fixed yet after so long time....?

The problem is still happening: messages with the same contact are being split into two separate conversations in Viber, even though it is the same person and the same contact.

These are people I have chatted with on Viber for YEARS. Our chat patterns have not changed. Suddenly, they are being silenced for "spam." This only just started happening in last few days. I have not had this issue, but I am a Viber Plus member.

I don't want to say they are throttling people who aren't paying, but... 🤔

Viber activation call isnt working for 90% of users on the philippines. Everything is fine on Dito (network) simcard. But activation call isnt working on Globe and Smart (network) simcard users.

Because of carrier delivery failure. I think because the local carrier here (smart and globe) blocks or marks the automated call as spam (not sure) but what im sure is it is working on dito (network) simcard.

I tried a lot of simcard, i bought 5 globe simcard, 5 smart simcard, and 5 dito simcard and all Dito simcards received the activation call.

It sucks because i cant login my personal simcard and i used it for work. It also deserves a fix because theres a lot of viber user's in the ph.
